What moisturiser to try next if skin won’t tolerate CeraVe PM

I don’t usually use anything on my incredibly sensitive skin, but have started to get very dry skin around my ears which is slowly spreading to my jawline, so really need to find a moisturiser I can tolerate. I have no idea what to try next though!

I bought cerave PM facial lotion as I know lots of people with sensitive skin do well on it. Unfortunately I’m not one of them and I’ve been unable to work out which ingredient is causing the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem and, if so, what has worked for you?

Thank you!

Avene is really nice on my sensitive skin. Boots have 15% off on some of the fancier brands so it might be a chance to try it.

This site is quite good for narrowing down what you are sensitive to (although it sometimes misses ingredients and doesn't make connections between families of ingredients that you might have a universal intolerance for): www.skincarisma.com/skincare-product-comparison

It shows the common ingredients in Cerave PM and LRP Toleriane cleanser are: Niacinamide, Disodium EDTA, Glycerin. So something like the Bioderma Cicabio or Avene Tolerance Extreme might work for you as they have neither Niacinamide nor Disodium EDTA.

Wow, that website is amazing @Phphion. I feel a spreadsheet coming on...

CeraVe was dreadful for me. I’ve gone back to Sukin.

And I swear by Aveeno as a rescue cream. The Colloidal Oats Cream, not the lotion.

I second Sukin moisturisers, I’ve had some awful times with my skin and feel the more natural you can go the better. What’s really worked for me is cleansing with sweet almond oil then a sukin facewash (but have also used the unfragranced child’s farm baby wash) then cold water splashed on as a toner then rosehip oil and/or a sukin moisturiser. My skin is so much calmer the less ‘stuff’ I put on it.
