I always think people who wear belt with outfits and some tops tucked in make an outfit look more together - I have tried it but I am "big" around the middle (slim legs but definitely have a belly, love handles, saddlebags so I just think it makes me look "heavy. But sometimes certain shirts and tops just look a bit "unstructured" if I wear them loose - is there a trick to wearing belts and tucking tops in if you are bigger around the middle? If I wear a flattering dress and a waist belt i think i look ok. As soon as I try jeans and a belt.... nope. Do I just accept the style isn't for me or is there a nack to it?

I think this is about width of belt. Hoping someone can come along and tell us what though, cos I would love to get this right too.

Same here. I have a million belts but never wear them...

Only tuck the blouse in slightly at front, not the sides or back

The French tuck is how I get around this. Google it. It does work! I am apple shaped and look slimmer when I do this

see pp! That kind of thing.

I tend to just 'blouse it out', as we used to say at school. That way the top hangs over the waistband anyway and leaves more to the imagine. Or maybe makes me look like a sack of spuds. Can't decide!

Thanks - I am glad it is not just me.... it feels like everyone is so slim and elegant and I am all dumpy lol. i tried just tucking in at the front and it still didn't sit right but think perhaps because of the style of tops - this way looks like it would suit better with looser, floaty tops. I will look up this french tuck! thank you
