Recommendations for daily use SPF 50 or 30?

I have started using retinol and want to up my SPF that I use on my face.

I bought a hideously expensive moisturiser with SPF 50, as it said it was light weight but it is really thick. And it is way too expensive to buy again - it is tiny!

What do other people use? DO you have a moisturiser with SPF added, or just by SPF separately and apply separately. What make of SPF do you recommend?

Any advice appreciated!

I use this instead of moisturiser www.boots.com/la-roche-posay-anthelios-shaka-ultra-light-facial-sun-cream-spf50-50ml-10259635 Its one of the lightest high factor SPFs I've ever tried, and is often on special offer at Boots.

There's a massive range of excellent Korean sun creams worth a try. Many can be bought via amazon and most on eBay. Biore, missha, purito etc

Thanks Wildwood6!

I personally think an SPF on its own is better.

Heliocare is the best I’ve used, you can buy it on amazon it’s about £20

Oooh thanks - I will check out the Korean range too. They are skin fanatics over there, I here Grin

It's much better to use a separate SPF. I was recommended this one by a dermatologist and have been using it for a few years and love it. Plays nicely under make up too www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002KDTGVE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

Helio seems to be the one of choice. It's frighteningly expensive for such a small tub though isn't it?

Neither. I use Neutrogena’s spf 110

Biore Watery Essence. It’s hand down the best I’ve used. No white caste, no stickiness, no grease.

Heliocare Ultra spf90 is beautiful.
I don't even need to wear foundation whe I wear it as it's tinted.
I use it daily without fail and the tube lasts
Me 8 weeks.

Costs between £16-&22 depending where I get it. I normally buy it off one of the beauty shops on eBay and seems the genuine product i

I've used the La Roche Posay Shaka one and it's great, very lightweight. Recently switched over to
Ambre Solaire Ultra-Light Sensitive Face Fluid SPF50+ after seeing it recommended as a cheaper alternative and it's just as good.

Doesn’t applying separate SPF negate any benefits in your morning moisturiser though?

DameCelia · 01/10/2020 20:38

@TeddyIsaHe
Biore is excellent but it is a chemical rather than a physical sunscreen. For tret users a broad spectrum screen is essential.

You moisturize beforehand. Spf is last

Heliocare 360 is fantastic. My skin has been much less shiny since using it.
