Winter breastfeeding nightwear - recommendations please

Second baby due November. Planning to breastfeed again and possibly cosleep if she’s anything like her brother. I’d like to get some nice warm button down pjs and/or nightshirts that won’t make me feel gross like my primark collection did last time. Happy to spend if they are worth it!

Best thing I had was a dressing gown, which I know isn't pj's but I got so much use out of it (also November baby!)

ParadiseLaundry · 24/09/2020 16:46

I bought some long sleeve tops from a charity shop and cut them down the front so I could get my breasts out easily, but if new primark nightwear made you feel gross then this obviously isn't for you Grin

FolkSongSweet · 24/09/2020 16:48

Dressing gown recommendations welcome! @ParadiseLaundry I’m normally a big charity shop fan, but I spent so much time in my pjs last time and felt horrible by the end. Expecting it to be similar scenario this time if not more so since it’ll be winter + covid, so was hoping for something a bit nicer to make me feel less like a slob. Also needs to be something I can order online as can’t get to shops atm!

I wore a vest under normal pj's. Pj top up and vest to keep my tummy warm!

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 24/09/2020 16:53

I used to wear a h&m nursing vest under button down pj tops. Look at www.cyberjammies.co.uk for some gorgeous and reasonably priced cotton pjs.

movingonup20 · 24/09/2020 16:55

I just wore old t shirts or long sleeve tops and pulled them up. Worked fine

NameChange30 · 24/09/2020 16:58

Desmond & Dempsey but they are v expensive!

I quite like wearing PJ trousers with a nursing vest and a cosy cardie (the open style without buttons).

Last time I treated myself to PJs I found nice ones from Boden and White Stuff. There is also a good selection from Zalando.

VirginiaWolverine · 24/09/2020 16:59

I wore pyjama bottoms, a bravado nursing camisole and a soft cardigan/hoodie. Easy boob access, and warm enough that I could keep the covers around my waist for safe co-sleeping.

I did get a swanky set of breastfeeding pyjamas for best, too, but the bravado camisoles were really comfortable and supportive and good for day and nighttime wear.

Thanks - I breastfed my first for 13 months so I know that’s an option. I obviously didn’t phrase it properly, but I was looking for specific recommendations of brands/actual pjs that are nice quality, preferably warm, and also work for bf (so button down ideally). Thanks for all the replies so far!

The other you can do it look for Henley style t shirts and PJ tops, that's the style with buttons halfway down. You do need a reasonably loose fit to get a boob out (well I do anyway since my boobs are huge Blush) but it's another option.

NameChange30 · 24/09/2020 17:14

The other thing you can do is

Babyshine2020 · 24/09/2020 17:18

Taken this off Google but this is £20 in Tesco. So soft and comfy and I'm feeding my little girl in this

It's an all in one btw!

Something like this

Sorry last post but my memory is rubbish!

This website in general is fab

Not a cheap option, but I loved my Seraphine pyjamas last winter when feeding and cosleeping. They're the bamboo ones, think they're called bamboo lounge maternity pyjamas, and are just so comfy and cosy. Highly recommend if you're looking to invest in a lovely set!

Juliancantcope · 24/09/2020 17:22

Babyshine - that looks lovely but Is it difficult to go for a wee in when holding baby?

giletrouge · 24/09/2020 17:31

Cyberjammies are nice - they sell as separates on Amazon. I have a pj top - nice fabric, lovely colours.
They also sell on QVC but seem expensive on there. They've got these on clearance though.

Long sleeved pyjama top from Jojo Maman Bebe with a nursing vest underneath.
I get what you mean about feeling gross in pyjamas - personally I have to get up and put a bra and day clothes on before I even feel ok to eat breakfast. I couldn't have dealt with pulling a T-shirt up because I hated my postpartum stomach so much and it upset me to see it.
The Jojo pyjama top is quite long and flattering on a postpartum body.
And yes I know not everyone feels that way and I'm glad some women can feel positivity towards their bodies but I'm not one of them. Also I get cold easily. When I was cosleeping I put the duvet up to my waist and then a cellular blanket over my shoulders.

CaptainWentworth · 24/09/2020 18:03

Like a PP I had a pj nursing top from Jojo Maman Bebe that I found pretty comfy, with a ‘ballet’ soft nursing bra from Bravado underneath (I had three of those bras and wore them on rotation at night for feeding)

Also the PJ nursing tops from Frugi are really cosy if you want something warmer. Their bottoms are nice too - the tops and bottoms come separately so you can mix and match and get a non nursing top to use later if you want.

VirginiaWolverine · 24/09/2020 18:38

My lovely pyjamas were Seraphine, too.

WooMaWang · 24/09/2020 18:50

I wear cheap breastfeeding tops from amazon (I’ve got long sleeved and short sleeved ones by the brand smallshow). They’re warm and comfy and you can get just your boob out.

They’re not exciting or fancy or anything though.

FolkSongSweet · 24/09/2020 20:07

Thanks so much for the tips - going to check them all out now.

Have also seen this on seraphine which is a nightshirt plus leggings and looks comfy but nice too: www.seraphine.com/en-gb/maternity-nightshirt-set/

I also had a pj nursing top from JoJo which I pretty much lived in and would wear a jumpsuit with zip right up front on top so could easily feed at night without need for duvet.
Lidl also had some really comfortable maternity/nursing pj's which I wore when JoJo top was in wash (access was easier with JoJo though)
