Any recommendations? Or are they all the same?

Thanks!

Irritatingly the best one I've found is in the US! Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo. I'm clinging onto the dregs of my last bottle.
I got sucked into spending £20 on Ouai following an effuse article in Sunday Times Style mag a few years back (I know). Absolutely useless, don't waste your money.
In the absence of anything particularly good I default to Batiste in the UK but I often find it way too powdery so interested in other recommendations from this thread.
My hair is really fine and if it's not washed every day needs dry shampoo or to be tied up (or both!)

No, they vary quite a lot. I think it depends on the kind of effect you want to achieve. The one I tend to default back to is the Batiste one with a hint of colour. Its quite 'gritty' but I quite like that as my hair is quite fine and it gives a bit of additional volume. I think the worst one I've tried is the Pantene Dry Shampoo Foam, it did absolutely nothing for my hair.

@Wildwood6

Thank you. I might try the Baptiste one then... they are usually on sale in Aldi!

@Wildwood6 what's the name of the batiste one you've got?
I've got tropical and it leaves my hands covered in powder.
The expensive Ouai one I bought was a foam too - maybe foams are for thick hair only!

Cavagirl · 23/09/2020 18:13

@changeofscene Grin can't stand prosecco!!!

Wildwood6 · 23/09/2020 18:24

@Cavagirl I use this one www.boots.com/beauty/hair/shampoo/batiste-dry-shampoo-medium-brunette-200ml They make a dark brunette and blonde one as well. The ones that don't have the colour in them just make me look dusty!! I tend to spray it just through the roots, really rub it in (then wash my hands!), brush it through and put a de-frizzing cream through the mid lengths and ends. After 10 years of trying I've finally got my dry shampoo technique down! Smile The foam ones are rubbish aren't they? My hair actually looked more greasy after using it! Thank you for the tip about the Ouai one, I quite like that range normally. That's 20 quid saved!

LittleCabbage · 23/09/2020 18:26

I usually use the Batiste dark one but have just ordered a Colab one on the strength of its excellent reviews on the Boots website. People seem to love it!

Cavagirl · 23/09/2020 18:29

@Wildwood6 brilliant, thank you!

changeofscene · 23/09/2020 18:30

@LittleCabbage let us know what it's like please Smile

I will try to remember to do so!

Colab is good, its not gritty like Batiste. I like Colab when I just want my hair to feel clean. Batiste is good for giving grip and volume for styling but then I cant wait to wash it out.

Bananaman123 · 23/09/2020 22:19

I have oily scalp, tried vo5 (awful), battiste (ok), colab (awful), superdrug (ok), lee stafford keep it clean is flipping amazing!

Krook · 23/09/2020 22:29

Lidl own brand much better than any others I've tried!

OhRosalind · 23/09/2020 22:31

Klorane is good, less dusty than batiste and smells nicer.

Tweetypietwo · 24/09/2020 03:42

Can't stand batiste dry shampoo, makes my head itchy! I like this one, www.superdrug.com/Hair/Shampoo/Dry-Shampoo/got2b-Fresh-It-Up-Extra-Fresh-Dry-Shampoo-200ml/p/785088?gclid=CjwKCAjw5Kv7BRBSEiwAXGDElX0wqR8vfCmhY8jsckQVTAKXvLgWTfx6mEIx4HHFaCAryl59BwpDsRoCibsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Dry shampoo works better if you use it before bed i find.

changeofscene · 25/09/2020 21:24

I've gone for the Colab (it was on offer!).

Onekidnoclue · 25/09/2020 21:46

Oh! I have actual advice. Spray on at night, use a fuckton. Don’t rub it in. Wil rub itself in as you sleep and you will wake with oomphy sex kitten hair.
Ps. The best is the batisse one with conditioner in too.

lightsoutminty · 25/09/2020 21:51

Colab is amazing, I have really dark hair and it never shows up, much lighter on the hair than batiste too. I also wash my hair about every ten days (yes pls judge me but it works). At only £3 I'd really recommend trying it! Not the paradise one though, it smells awful. The rest are great.

LittleCabbage · 01/10/2020 21:05

Hmmmm, I have been using the Colab. I disagree about the whiteness - if I use more than a small amount, it definitely shows up. But it does feel nicer than the Batiste. If Colab start doing a version for dark hair, it will be a winner for me.
