Dressing for weight gain

I'm looking for some advice please. Since March I have put on 3stone in weight. I cant see this changing in the short term as Im still WFH lone parenting. Anyway, I have no idea how to dress my larger body. Im 5'4, generous hips, heavy thighs and a decent belly.
I used to favour jeans, boots and a shirt or t-shirt. I am now living in the only things which fit - joggers, leggings and the biggest t-shirts and hoodies I own.

Should I just buy more of the things I would normally wear but 3 sizes bigger? Im wondering if I'll just look like an inflated version of myself or should I try new styles? Im feeling like a big wobbly frump right now.

Definitely stick to items/styles you're used to and feel comfortable in. It's probably not a good time for a complete change of style! Do buy some larger clothes- as you said, you don't have the time or headspace to make changes at the moment- you need to be comfortable while working. We're all under immense pressure at the moment, please don't view yourself negatively Thanks Perhaps just buy a few basics, without forking out too much if it turns out to be short term gain only

i have gained 2 stone too so i know how it feels.

get new clothes, things that skim but aren't clingy like a looser mid hip length cardigan, firmer weave shirts (not jersey or tshirt material) or tops that are heavy not flimsy as they will stick to back fat and stomach bulges etc.

As for trousers or bottom half, just go for the cheapest stuff that looks decent enough to pass off as not cheap if you get me.

I've gone to GAP and managed to get stuff in 60% off. Its not my usual - as in jazzy print trousers (plaid or flower print) but Ive gone for low key colours and its fine.

Ive bought things like things like and also new things like earrings just to give myself a boost.

A lot of people will have gained weight. You will sort it out in time. Im sure I will sort out mine as Im now in the overweight category.

Just focus on little boosts to feel good.

Thank you both. The only time I go out now is to do the school run (7min walk) and I've been throwing a coat on to cover up. Today it was too warm for a coat and I caught sight of myself in a house window wearing my joggers and clingy, unflattering t-shirt and felt shit. Blush

Dresses and jumpsuits. I'm a size 20 and trousers suck when you're overweight.

I like boohoo for cheap stuff, and Joanieclothing and Asos

Maybe have a nosey on Instagram for mid-plus size styling tips

Dresses, or leggings with tunic style tops. I know Evans doesn't get a good press on MN but I find that they are designed for fuller figures, whereas I find bigger sizes of other clothes are too big in my slimmer areas.
