Round face - Botox masseteur muscle

I have a naturally chubby, round face. Every time I lose weight I get happy with my face but the weight is unsustainable to maintain. As soon as I get a comfortable weight say 5 pounds extra it goes straight to my cheeks.

I am considering Botox for the massetuer muscle and cheek filler to help give some contour.

Has anyone had this?

if you have a large face, i would hesitate in filling it even bigger

I considered this but read some quite alarming things about what it can do to your bone and jaw (and maybe teeth although perhaps not?!) long term. I'd say if you really want it get several consultations with the top people money can buy and don't take any major risks. And do as much reading as you can beforehand.

I have had fat dissolving injections in my lower face and jawline for this problem. I always had a round face with chubby cheeks and it never bothered me much when I was younger but it all slid downward when I hit 40. The first round of injections went well and I could really see the difference. I had the second round last week so waiting to see what happens once the swelling has completely subsided. I also have overdeveloped massetor muscles so botox there will be the next step if I feel it's needed.
Buccal fat pad removal is another option. It might not be great to shrink muscle if the real problem is excess fat. I would also avoid fillers unless you are trying to pull up skin that is sagging. My beautician thinks mid face fillers would be helpful for my jowliness.
I'm a healthy weight and like you any weight gain, even in a healthy range, goes straight to my face. Cheekbones and a chiselled jawline are distant dreams!

Having looked at pictures of Botox for masseter muscle it seems to work best for those who have an overly square jaw (really square a la David Coulthard). Many of the before and afters, where the patient didn’t have a particularly square jaw, I actually think the before looks better!

Fillers or fat dissolving or maybe even just contouring make up sound more suited to what you are trying to achieve rather than Botox.
