Platinum blonde after brown box dyes?

Has anybody an experience of going platinum blonde over previously coloured brown hair?

I have an appointment with colour specialist at the salon shortly so she can see what we are dealing with & to set my expectations I guess.

I'm guessing it may take a couple of salon sessions of bleaching it a few weeks apart. I'm washing hair daily in head & shoulders with hot water to try to fade the brown in the hope that it may lift clean first time ( long shot I know )

Just wondering if any of you can share experiences... am I going to be a lovely patchy yellow/ orange after the first session ?

TIA.

One of my friends has made the transition from dark box dye to full head blond highlights, she went to a reputable hair dresser as far as I know, she's had the highlights done a few times she said ( unclear of exact timings/times apart : she's had it done ) and hers is snapping off at the ends now. Her hair is a lot finer than mine, the colour is nice but the breakage is pretty bad.

I think that looks really nice. 🙂 I appreciate it's not what you want ultimately though.
I guess a few weeks treating it kindly then have it lightened?

Thanks @Horsemad

I would love to be expecting to be going back for more lightening in the next few weeks but I think it's going to be months ... several months.

Although it's not quite what I wanted ( yet) I'm just going to have to sit tight with it atm & take good care of it until it can be lightened further.

It had 2 years worth of box dyes with overlapping & bandy dark build up colour so I guess I should be happy I got some sort of even result.
