Curling straight hair options?

I love the look of my hair with curls. There's more body to the hair too and I really like curls in my hair.

I'm looking for successful curling options.

I have a curling wand or tongs - I'm not too sure. I hate it because I burn my fingers and scalp and it takes forever.

I tried heatless curls using a headband. That was another nightmare option and it wasn't worth my while. It would take me forever. Standing in front of a mirror doing my hair and I was never able to get my whole hair around the band and then I would have to do it again and again. It never worked out well for me.

I bought a set of heated rollers. This was the best for me. However it takes me forever. I started at 11am yesterday morning putting my clean hair in heated rollers. It was 11.45 am by the time I was ready putting them in. I really don't have that time to spend putting them in. I tend to come into difficulty too because I run out from space on my head to clip the rollers in. Putting them in gave me a headache because it took so long and I had so much other stuff to do. I started early getting ready and I still managed to be late. I spent so much time on my hair but the curls never stayed in.

Are there any successful curling options.

Taking what 2020 has given us so far, yesterday was probably the only highlight and outing of 2020 so I don't need another curling option straight away.

Could you try buying a pair of heat resistant gloves on Amazon? I have a pair for when I'm curling my hair with tongs or a curling barrel and it's a game changer Smile

I also suit my hair better curly/wavy and would kill to find a quick way of getting it like that quickly but I'm still looking. You could try Babyliss curl secret but it might still be too time consuming. I bought one after my hairdresser raved about it being quick but I still find it takes to long. I have a lot of hair though (partly because I have a big head). If you're more normal in the head size department though or just have less hair it might be an option. Some people rave about the GHD oracle too but I reckon it would also just take too long for me.

You can get a good curl by using straighteners. That's how I do mine. It takes a while to get the hand of the technique but once you get it is fairly easy. I can do my longish hair in about 10 mins. Look on YouTube to see how it's done. 👍🏻

I have these and they're brilliant

Oh I need this too! I’ve got shitty, flat hair. I want it to be all sexy and curly and omphy nothing seems to work though. Have bought a pair of straighteners to try that but it’s hard! Have been thinking about the mermaid crimping thing but I want waves, not crimps.

I have something like this, but its a Babyliss, with a thick spiral down the middle, it curls my hair, and its poker straight (but need hairspray) had it for years and its still going strong.

Manscols yes just like those ones. I used to burn my fingers all the time trying to curl my hair, but no more!
Straighteners give a really good curl but I've also got a barrel curler and thinner tongers. Have just had my hair cut just above the shoulders. You need to make sure you have product in your hair when damp (mousse or curling spray to give it some hold). Then use a dry texture spray etc once dry (if your hair is quite fine and flat).

ArranBound · 23/09/2020 22:29

I use Curlformers. You can sleep on them or just dry your hair with them in. They're the only way I can get all over curls.

I just do mine with my GHDs. It’s so quick.

MrsPerfect12 · 24/09/2020 07:38

Try the dressing gown curls, gives me beautiful hair that lasts days and takes me 10 mins at night, with no heat. It really works.

PontiacBandit · 24/09/2020 07:55

I've had so many curling tools over the years but finally learned how to curl with straighteners thanks to YouTube. It's basically like curling ribbon on presents.
