Navy trousers and which shoes??

I'm rubbish at looking at colours/ clothes and seeing what goes, so tend to go safe and stick to black/ beige trousers and shoes, colourful tops, jeans if casual. I can do navy trousers in the summer and have a couple of options, but what colour shoe goes with smart winter navy trousers when wearing a plain white/ cream/ white and navy top?
Thanks fashionistas!

I'm in awe of people who can carry off bright colours with their shoes, though I do love a bright top - pastels do nothing for me, so it is either white/ cream, or more often reds and oranges that I wear. Do you match the top to the shoe, ie would you wear orange shoes with an orange top, or how else would you wear them? I hadn't thought about silver though as an alternative.

I have tan boots for my jeans, just was under the impression that jeans are more forgiving!

Tan, red, burgundy, yellow, metallics.

Try JD Williams for wide fit shoes . I have dreadfully wide feet EEE size and they have some lovely non frumpy styles

I often wear navy trousers & have two pairs of Red or Dead leather brogues, one navy, one burgundy. Bought them in Schuh.

I have these too which are mustard and navy.

Navy trousers and which shoes??
Lucked · 16/09/2020 08:13

I find brogues more versatile than loafers

LesLavandes · 16/09/2020 14:48

I wear a lot of navy. For trousers, I think if you legs are shortish, and body long, you should wear navy shoes to elongate you. If long legs, I am sure colourful shoes would look good. It also depends on style of trouser, in my humble opinion

MadauntofA · 16/09/2020 15:57

Interesting point about leg length- I'm quite short!

I wear loads of navy. I hate tan and burgundy so tend to wear black, silver or leopard print with it. And obviously white trainers in the summer.

You could match your top, red shoes and red top with navy trousers would look great, or perhaps a patterned top with just a bit of colour that matches the shoes. You could also wear a white of cream top, and tie the shoes in with some accessories. Say a red necklace or scarf, white shirt, navy trousers, red shoes.

MadauntofA · 17/09/2020 05:52

Of course- matching accessories! I have a variety of necklaces/ beads, so will take them into account.

I like wearing black with navy, but only if I have a black top on too, otherwise yellow, burgundy or tan

MadauntofA · 17/09/2020 06:02

I don't think I'm adventurous enough for yellow shoes!!

Pink, especially fuchsia, works well with navy as does orange, if you want to liven up your outfit. Red looks fabulous. Navy trousers, breton top and red shoes look great!

I have a pair of navy, burgundy & cream shoes that I've worn with navy trousers and I think black can look good with navy, too.

GolightlyMrsGolightly · 17/09/2020 07:31

I wear navy trousers all the time. Burgundy loafers, pointed flays one burgundy, deep pink or green. Navy patent loafers. Silver loafers, though the silver doesn’t last long....

GolightlyMrsGolightly · 17/09/2020 07:33

Orange top with a burgundy or deep pink shoe would work. Or burgundy top with green or blue shoes.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 17/09/2020 07:35

Tan always feels a safe bet with navy, classic enough, not too out there

funtimefrank · 17/09/2020 08:06

I wear pink or mustard with my navy trousers but I like a bright shoe.
