Is an EEE fitting shoe wider than an E fit?

wider
D is standard fit (as in shops)
E is wide fit (that you find sometimes in shops like M&S)
EEE is for wider feet that aren't available in shops just mail order catalogues

Excellent thank you. Shoe I'm looking at is mail order in E or EEE, and wasn't sure which to go for. Will order EEE I think.

I often go for the EEE fitting (especially in boots when you tend to wear thick socks).
