Eczema went whilst on holiday in Cornwall but now it's back!

Both my DS, 2, and I suffer from eczema. Just on our face. Whilst we were in Cornwall last week it completely cleared up. Guess due to the soft water. We're back home now- closer to London, and it's back.

It's not an option for us to get a water softener and I've tried all sorts of creams. Was thinking of trying Dermatica too. But, was wondering if anyone had any other ideas to try?

Sorry, I mean you and your DS.

Also I always have Aveeno to hand!

Yy the sea often does wonders for my eczema. Try salt baths

We have a softener under our kitchen sink, it’s only about 12” wide and as deep as the cupboard. It’s fab, cured my kids excema and every time we forget to put the salt back, dd starts itching again.

Get a water softener put in somewhere like the utility room or under the kitchen sink. Why would they need to rip out new plaster.

Our water softener is in the cupboard under the stairs. Zero mess, the installer just lifted the hall carpet
Do it, if not for your skin then for your lovely new home 😄. You need less washing powder etc so that will help skin as well as extend the life of your washing machine and other appliances

If it's just on your face can't you wash it with a small amount of filtered water after a shower or bath? Might make a difference if it's due to hard water residue. You'd only need a filter jug for this,

Our stop cock is now in our downstairs loo and the cupboards for the utility are across the hall so pipe work would have to run across - up the walls and across the ceiling- floor has now been screed- ultimately you need to target the main water source. So I understand!

Bath salts are a great shout. I never get in the bath but would be a good excuse. Will try that. Just wondering whether there are any products or ways people have discovered.

Thanks so much for your input.

I wonder if we could house a softener in the downstairs loo though.. reckon that's the only option to get rid of this pesky condition?

It's a small space under the stairs but might work.

Thanks all.
