I seriously need hair help

I have always hated my hair and need some ideas so thought I'd ask you lovely people. It is very thick and wavy but frizzes up constantly. This picture is taken when I've gone to bed with it damp in a ponytail and just brushed it out and it looks ok when I've brushed it but will frizz up again throughout the day.

I've had it long before but there's so much of it I end up tying it up all the time and I suit it better when it's down. I've had it extremely short before when I was in my early 20s and get tempted to chop it all off but I have a double chin so not sure I'd carry it off.

I usually have it cut to shoulder length just too short to tie up so that I'm forced to straighten it but am not great with the straighteners and it still frizzes up. I haven't had it cut since March and I can't face going to the hairdresser because I don't know what I want. Please help!

I'm very lazy and have a toddler and a baby so in an ideal world I want to be able to spend hardly any time doing it in the morning but it still look ok. I think having typed all this out that I'm asking for the moon on a stick..... Grin

Would you go for a Keratin or other Straightening system?

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 09/09/2020 20:41

What do you hate about it? It looks lovely! Sorry, know that's unhelpful but it really does look like decent hair (but then mine's falling out so I would say that...)

Is it style inspiration you're wanting?

Not helpful but I'd love my hair to look like yours. Mine is uncontrollable, frizz half curls, sometimes loads of curls.

Hair is lovely and looks in great condition!

You could get some anti frizz cream to put on before or after you straighten it

Isnt frizz when there is a fuzz layer on top of the hair almost? Yours looks wavy.

I’d be tempted to go down the route of trying out the curly girl method? If it has a natural wave.. bit of effort at the start to work our best products for your hair but lots of advice available, then once you’ve got that nailed it’s relatively straightforward to maintain. So working with rather than against your natural texture? I will admit my hair is about as straight and boring as it comes but know lots of people have success with this strategy!

Oh bless you, you're all very kind. It looks ok in the picture but within a couple of hours it will poof up and it just never looks tidy, I feel unkempt. Perhaps some serum of some sort is the way to go, I've had bad experiences of them making my hair look greasy!

I definitely would look at straightening treatment but got worried when I researched that they contain formaldehyde?

I did try curly girl method a few years ago but gave up after a couple of weeks.... I agree it's something you need to persevere with to find the right products.
