Yet another bra fitting post.

So I need to pick the collective brains of mumsnet. I am a 36f/ff. I have one bra that fits me, all others without fail hurt. The reason the hurt is the underwire is too wide. And the band is a bit tight on some. If I go up a size then the underwire is even wider. I need the underwire the size of a D cup but with lots of volume. Has anybody else got this issue?

Anyone?

I'm a similar size (34h) and I just don't wear underwires anymore. Brands like Molke and similar have given me the best support, best comfort, and best overall bra feeling I ever had.

Maybe not what you were looking for, sorry.

I do wear a lot of bralets, but what I really need is a decent seam free bra for under t shirts that gives a good outline without too much padding. I've even been to Bravissimo they fit OK at first but a couple of hours later I'm in agony. I've honestly got rid of about 20 bras this year.

Try aubade, the cup go up in size but more in projection without the underwire becoming huge! They are great for me (32G).

I have exact the same issue OP, the wires often dig in as they are too wide but I need the volume (30E). I don't have the answer but keen to know if anyone else does!

I'm so suprised that more people don't have this problem. I've literally have one style of bra from Matalan that I can wear but it's not particularly pretty and as it's lace it's no good under t shirts.

I think I have the opposite problem. I prefer a wider wire and less volume in the cup (30E). But I know from experience that there's a huge variation in the wire shape. I once found a website that had loads of information about this but I can't remember where it was. Are you near a Bravissimo? I reckon they'd be able to advise on different styles that might work better.

I had a fitting a there and bought two bras for £70 one was a lace full bra which was OK but the other was a moulded t shirt one and it was awful. Looked fine at first but after wearing for a couple of hours I was in agony with welts under my armpits.

Yes I have that problem, I need narrow wires with a deeper cup, most (bravissimo I’m looking at you) bras just flatten my boobs and send them east/west. I find Panache jasmine to fit me best, although you may need to play around with sizing as I find them more generous in the cup than others .

Ginfordinner · 09/09/2020 15:02

What dress size are you?

bonzo77 · 09/09/2020 15:02

If you’re on Facebook, join Boob or Bust page. As they have loads and loads of advice, as it’s not just size but also breast shape that can affect the fit. How did you arrive at your current size? it’s possible it’s not quite right, especially if it’s been a while since your last fitting.

poorbuthappy · 09/09/2020 15:02

Get on boob or bust website and measure properly (if you haven't already done so) and take it from there.
There's a lot of information on their website also the fit of bras and what should suit you etc.
Good luck!
