No make-up. Cc cream or BB cream or tinted moisturiser?

I've stopped wearing a full face of makeup during lockdown. I used to wear ELDW plus a loose Clarins powder. I'd like to stop wearing foundation every day but I'd like something to disguise my tendency to redness, and the bags under my eyes. My forehead can get very shiny. I'm mid 40s.

What product would you recommend? Do I need a separate concealer? I have very greasy eyelids, so will I be able to wear a mascara, or will it slide off? Would waterproof be better? So many questions!
Thanks

I've recently started wearing nars tinted moisturiser. It's a lovley light coverage.

Not what you asked, but I in relation to your mascara question have you ever thought about eyelash tinting? I too stopped wearing makeup over lockdown and don't really want to go back to it. Mascara was problematic for me and would always smudge and wear off by the end of the day. Anyway I had my eyelashes tinted last week and it's life changing! Worth thinking about.

I swear by Nivea tinted moisturiser. Cheap and cheerful but gives me a healthy glow.

Definitely ditch the ELDW.
Tinted moisturiser doesn't have the staying power of BB and CC creams but CC in particular can look as heavy as foundation. Powder over tinted moisturiser might be a good bet.
Definitely add concealer, I really rate Fenty beauty for concealer.
For mascara if it's smudging have you tried a tubing mascara? Won't budge until washed off with warm water.
Mind you, I started perming and dyeing my own lashes over Lockdown, mascara not necessary now.

I bought this specifically for zoom meetings. I stopped wearing foundation but noticed that on screen I had redness to my complexion. I now wear it all the time when I wear make up, not just for online meetings. You can get a trial size.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was already considering the erborian cc, so I might start with that. I might also dye my lashes, but I can't do it myself and I don't want to have to keep going to get it topped up.

I'd also have a look at it cosmetics cc cream, it was developed by the founder of the brand to cover her own rosacea so it tackles redness really well. Not the super light coverage you'd expect with a cc cream but less than eldw but probably enough to not necessarily need concealer but you may want a lighter type to bring dimension back in your face as just base plus mascara can make you look very flat.

You can tint your own eyelashes it's super easy and only takes 10 minutes but it's not the same as mascara. If you struggle with oily eyelids go for a tubing mascara rather than waterproof. I've heard good things about Maybelline's snapscara but have not tried it myself yet. My favourite tuber is Sensai volumising 38 (the volumising is not comparable to non tubing volume mascaras but I just like it as an everyday mascara).

I love this yellow face primer by Clinique. The tiniest bit smooths pores and takes away any shine and redness. I use it alone on the t zone after a good moisturiser, it just looks like you have lovely fresh skin.

I love Bare Minerals complexion rescue bb cream.

This works well to reduce redness, quite moisturising to

If you tend to get shiny and need to cover redness then you might struggle with most tinted moisturisers and BB/CC creams as most don't have the lasting power and/or much coverage.

You're used to wearing ELDW which is a medium to high coverage foundation, how about just switching to a lighter foundation? I would use a primer underneath to help with shine, and then a lightweight but long lasting foundation. I really like Armani Maestro or Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet. Both are sheer-to-medium coverage.

Oh and yes a would suggest a separate concealer. That way you can spot cover any redness, while keeping your actual base quite sheer.
