How long could you go without a clothes wash?

Leaving lingerie out but assuming no season change.
I think I could go 5-6 weeks and wonder if I have too many clothes...

At least a month I reckon.

MJMG2015 · 06/09/2020 13:37

Assuming - a new set off clothes everyday, no event out of the ordinary & mid season (so can wear shorts & trousers) Probably a month. Maybe longer.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 06/09/2020 13:38

Months and months lol. I love clothes way too much to have limited options. I think I've got about 30-40 pairs of underwear, so after a couple of weeks and my reserves start to dwindle then I'll do laundry 🤣

NeedWineNow · 06/09/2020 15:15

Months. I could use a different handbag every day for quite a while as well.

I think I have a bit of an obsession.

StCharlotte · 06/09/2020 16:47

@DDIJ

I have 2 tops and 2 bottoms so not long. I do 6 or 7 loads of laundry every day so I can put my own things in with that so it works out that I always have clean clothes.
Who has all the clothes in your house? Or are there dozens of you? Are there even enough hours in the day to do 6 or 7 washes?

I'm mildly flabbergasted.

IvyEf · 06/09/2020 16:49

@ddij you only have two outfits but do half a dozen washes per day? What?

managedmis · 06/09/2020 17:18

Ha, good question.

I think at least 3 months Confused

managedmis · 06/09/2020 17:18

I may actually try this

SymphonyofShadows · 06/09/2020 18:24

A while. I was thinking of trying to see how long I could go without wearing the same thing at work.

This is a fantastic idea! See you all next Thursday in Lidl in our wedding dresses and Crocs!

Several months

AriettyHomily · 07/09/2020 10:13

If I was wearing work clothes as well as home, a month maybe six weeks. Comfy clothes two.

HRHQueenMortificado · 07/09/2020 11:24

A good few months if I wore some odd combinations. It wouldn't be pretty though all of the washing hanging around!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 07/09/2020 11:29

Are you all following Government guidance and only wearing clothing once before washing it? I can't imagine how much space you would need to have months of clothes available 🤯

Yep. I could wear a clothing item once and have enough clothes for a month. I have a large wardrobe and two chest of drawers (and a smaller wardrobe for coats/jackets etc) so not that much space needed.

LioneIRichTea · 07/09/2020 11:35

I meant months*

Iwantacookie · 07/09/2020 11:42

Oh interesting ask.
I think excluding pjs, socks and underwear a good few weeks possibly couple of months.
I would end up wearing some questionable outfits though Grin
I tend to rotate the same few things which is a shame because I do have some nice things.

muddledmidget · 07/09/2020 11:47

I'm in the middle of finding out, having ripped out the kitchen over the BH weekend. So far 9 days in and going OK. But still have another 2 weeks at least until new washing machine is ready

steppemum · 07/09/2020 11:51

well, here's the thing.
I probably have enough T-shirts for 4-5 weeks, but loads of those fall under the 'wear to walk the dog/do the garden' category.

So, presentable, for working in (not office wear, I wear casual/presentable) probably could spread it to 3 weeks with dog walking Ts at weekends

@JaceLancs

Months if not years! I love clothes
Me too. It’s really scary how long I could last.
