I would like to wear head bands more but they always slide back off my head. what am I doing wrong here?

Regrettably it sounds like your head is too pointy. You may have to wear it lower, beneath your ears, to keep it in place.

On the bright side it can double up as a face mask though!

Oldraver · 05/09/2020 12:04

Mine end up slipping back but I assumed it was because they are coverered in fabric.

Some have teeth on and maybe wouldn't ? Ive also had ones that were quite tight and stayed put but irritated the fuck out of me

CaptainMyCaptain · 05/09/2020 12:06

I wear headbands I've made with fabric and an elastic bit at the back hidden under my hair. Probably at bit quirky and not everyone's look but great for mask wearing - I thread it through the loops so there's no discomfort to my ears.

I'm now feeling my head to see if it is pointy. Grin

I have tried so many and cant work it out. I have some plastic ones with teeth, they are ok, it is the cloth bands that go all around that just sliiiiiiiiiide back.

This response really made me laugh!

I have the same problem. For the cloth bands, you need to wear a wrap headband underneath that grips your hair and the band so they stay in place - you can buy them online. Alternatively, try hair grips using a criss cross pattern to hold the band.

Limpshade · 05/09/2020 12:32

The ones that go all the way around slip off my head too - hello from a fellow conehead 👋🏻

I use "faux" ones which are basically a metal headband (that ends at the ears) covered in fabric. I found one that works for me and bought it in every colour/pattern!

SelmaB · 05/09/2020 12:55

I find if headbands are tight enough to stop them slipping off, they invariably give me a headache! The same with wearing my hair up. More than an hour or two and my head gets so sore. I don't know if I just have an unusually sensitive head or something. So looser is actually better even if it means a lot of readjusting imo.

The kids have some of those styles - I think you are right and I need them too

I wear the rabbit ears type - wide fabric with wire inside. You twist the ends together and they stay in place all day - even silky ones. You can wear the twisted bit anywhere - on the top of your head or at the back if you prefer.

I did buy a very expensive hand made one at a local craft fair then found them on Amazon and bought a dozen in a pack for £ 12.00.

Your hair is too smooth and silky. Grin

I wish my hair was smooth and silky!!

What are these wire filled rabbit kits called? I'm intrigued!

Am I allowed to post an Amazon link?

They work really well. I have short messy hair but my daughters have long straight hair and we all wear them.

Realitea · 05/09/2020 18:29

I'm wearing one today and have those invisible long clips underneath holding it in place.

HRHQueenMortificado · 05/09/2020 18:46

They give me an headache I have a too big head!
