Plantar fasciitis and winter footwear 🦶🦶

Am quite new to the painful condition of plantar fasciitis ( lockdown fitness spate) and have managed through the Summer in Birkenstock’s & ASICS gel trainers. Am back to the office soon and not sure what shoes to wear. It’s smart casual dress so could get away with trainers but they’re not very waterproof. Any advice anyone?

Personally, I find Sketchers too soft and unsupportive. I would recommend shoes or boots with a firm foot bed and either good arch support such as Vionic or supportive insoles offering arch support. I find it best if I vary my footwear every so often, do exercises rolling foot over a can while sitting/stretches and wearing slight wedge Fitflops in the house when going from sitting to standing or when first get out of bed.

Orthotic insoles plus vflat or very low heeled (

I spent ages online looking at various solutions, and wasn't prepared to spend £100's on various shoes, so instead I spent £30 seeing a podiatrist. She suggested insoles, good trainers whenever possible (for sports I always wear ASICS Gel Kayano which got the seal of approval, but I was wearing Stan Smiths a lot, and needed something less flat. Rolling with tennis balls, iced bottles etc did NOTHING. The podiatrist recommended a sports massage on my calves (warning me it would be painful, it was). I then started massaging my calves and plantar tendon every morning, and that was what made it go. I still massage my calves regularly and make sure I keep them well stretched (I walk a lot and sometimes run, my poor calves!).

Fitflops (boots for winter) or the crocs lite ride.

I believe Skechers caused mine.
The insoles did nothing for me
I’ve worn nothing but Fitflop trainers and ASICS trainers all summer and it’s almost gone after 18 months.

Superfeet insoles have really helped. Can put them in different shoes. Calf massage has also really helped.

I've been walking in Go Walks over the summer and having really problems hobbling afterwards - its beginning to make sense now.

I use Birkenstocks at home and I have insoles of Amazon for my other shoes. It works for me.
