Anyone use this brand? Heard great things about them. Seems to be very affordable to.

However, I’ve had a nosey on their website and I’m very confused about which products would be best for me and how to use them?

I would say I have combination skin, during the summer, I get a bit oily on my forehead, nose and chin and dry around my cheeks. In the colder months my skin is a tad on the dry side all over. I have quite visible pores on my nose. Extremely prone to getting spots on my chin, but nowhere else on my face. I get quite bad eye bags and dark circles, and my skin in general just looks a bit tired and dull.

Which products should I be using and how should I be using them? If anyone has any recommendations of products from a different brand at a similar price point I’d love to hear about those products too Smile

Following this as I have been meaning to post the exact same thing on here. I've got a gift card to Next and haven't found anything there in over a year of having it. But have seen that the sell The Ordinary Skincare range online app would like to use it on that

I find they do nothing

Bufferingkisses · 27/08/2020 20:51

Highly recommended. I use hyaluronic acid and buffet in the morning then retinol 5% in squaline at night. My teen daughters use various depending on their skin at the time. They nagged me into trying it and they were right!

I have found reduced wrinkles, eczema patch gone, reduced pores and generally healthier looking. However my previous skin routine was... lacking Grin

I've had brilliant results with the retinol in squalene.

Have just bought buffet, rosehip oil and their daily moisturiser.

Biggest selling point is that none of it smells, I cant bear scented face products.

the red chemical peel (aha/bha or something) is ace.
the rest is a bit meh.

Have a look at deciemchatroom.com there’s loads of info on there about which products to use and in what order. They also have charts on what not to use together.

I went for an aesthetic treatment last week and the new Doctor had a selection of ultra expensive products to recommend (Amiers) When I told him I used the ordinary he said they were every bit as good if not better, they don’t sell it there so he’d nothing to gain. He said he uses them himself - his skin was beautiful btw!

For my ageing skin he recommended the buffet, hyaluronic acid, Retinoid emulsion and the NIOD survival 30 (this is a spf made by Deciem and you click on the the little box to the left of the DECIEM logo at the top to access the menu).

See your dr if your spot prone, don’t be like me and waste a small fortune on skincare that didn’t work.

Be brave and take a photo of your face. Email this to them and ask for product recommendations. Highlight any areas you think are of concern. My skin is looking the best it has done in years following their recommendations.

I’m loving The Ordinary. Sensitive rosacea type S kin has never looked better. You can message them and see what they recommend for your specific needs.
Do have a look at the other ranges the parent company do too- hylamide serum has been ace for me.

SavoyCabbage · 27/08/2020 22:18

I absolutely love it. Ive had a few different things from them before but I've been actually sticking to a regime during lockdown and my skin looks absolutely amazing.

Getting to grips with it all is the worst part. Someone on MN recommended an app that lists them all and tells you what they do and when to do it in plain English. It's called 'skincare' and it's a coral colour with a white teardrop shape.

I use their niacinamide in the am and every other pm. On the other pm I use their glycolic acid. Every night I use the rosehip oil.
Just these 3 products have made a massive difference to my skin.
I’m debating about starting to use a Retinoid for my faint horizontal forehead lines.
Can anyone suggest the best beginner one. I’ve heard you have to start gently with retinol

My skin is noticeably better to the point of comments. Ive been using their niaciamine and zinc and their retinol.

If you email them via the website with your questions they will get back to you and recommend products. They are very honest. They have often told me NOT to get some products I thought I needed because I was already using others to address those issues.
