Just been watching Rylan and co on you are what you wear. I'm in as much of a rut as the people on it! I feel like I usually look like a frump or just plain scruffy.
I'm short at five foot three. 9 and a half stones, so not hugely overweight but have a bit of a baby belly and I hate hate hate my legs, I've always had cellulite and cankles. Won't go shorter than knee length. Boobs are ok. Almost 40 years old.
My usual uniform is jeggings ( I just order the same pair now when the elastic goes...) and a loose top and cardi. Going out it's the jeggings again and a nicer top. Haven't a clue about accessories.
I work somewhere which has a dress code, no boobs, shorts, bare shoulders etc.
Not afraid of bold colours and prints. Don't wear heels at all due to foot problems. Pale skin, dark hair - english rose.
Anyone got any tips?

Anyone at all? I'd be really grateful

It sounds like we have very similar figures. I tend to wear slim 'mom' type jeans with a belt and a T-shirt, tucked in. Usually paired with trainers like Adidas campus or vans. Sometimes I wear skinny jeans with a looser top (usually still a T-shirt) and something like a denim jacket. I find skirts are usually unflattering on me but if I do wear one it's usually a midi length skirt with a jumper and again trainers or boots.

What styles do you like? Where do you usually shop?

What size clothes are you?

What about some jeans and jumper combos to start you off and ease you out of the jeggings.

Or some some high waisted midi skirts with turtle necks for winter.

I like loafers for work as they are flat but smart.

Tidy eyebrows and good hair cut will give you a boost too.

Eat a bit better and up your steps and then build up to doing proper exercise to lose weight / tone and you will feel amazing!

I have recently gone through all the work / social occasions I come across and written a list of things I would need for each to feel nice and am working my way through it!

I'd also recommend chucking lots of the old stuff out so you're not tempted to keep wearing it!

Sounds like an exciting project - enjoy :)

Thanks a million for replying! See I never would have even thought about a midi skirt, do you find they shorten you? Maybe I've totally got the wrong impression of them! Sorry on mobile so struggling to quote people. I'm a size 10/12. I tend to buy all my clothes from a few places ....the dreaded jeggings from peacocks, and everything else from Dorothy Perkins or the oasis/warehouse sale. Maybe the odd bit from Primark.

Styles - hmm let me think. Very set in my ways. Not in work - Like the t shirt style flowery tops from the likes of the above, the floaty ones. Think Billie and blossom at DP. With jeggings or jeans. Dark coloured cardis over. In work either shift type dresses with sleeves with a bit of pattern (oh might add Next to my list), or floaty knee length florals in summer. Sometimes pencil or a line skirts with a loose top tucked in. It doesn't sound too bad written down but I feel so boring!

@stepmumSW5

Something like this?
Thanks, I really like the first one, the top is not a million miles off what I wear, but is really smartened up with the jacket. I'd probably get away with that for work. I love a bit of leopard print! I'm not so keen on the second one sorry

Midi dress with knee length boots?

Smart trousers and jumper or blouse.

I've just started doing Stitchfix. You do a style questionnaire and then they send you a box of five items every so often depending on what you set. Some boxes are all misses, but I generally find one thing from each box that I like. It really helps broaden my style a bit because I wouldn't necessarily choose the things for myself but once tried on I really love!
