Do I need a scalp exfoliator?

Every now and then I get suckered convinced I need something that is new on the market. This week, a morning tv programme talked about this. It stops your scalp being itchy as well apparently. This would be good, as I am a bit itchy, without having dandruff, but am I being sold something else I don't need? Can I make up a recipe myself? I'm a bit more wary now of being sold the Emperor's new clothes at long last
TIA.

I’ve got a scalp brush that I use when I shampoo, it’s meant to exfoliate too.

It gives me that fresh from the hairdresser feeling.

Ooh, scalp brush you say. Where did you get it please Fluffy?

I use the Philip Kingsley exfoliating scalp mask once a week and couldn’t do without it now - makes my scalp and hair feel light and really clean. It’s the kind of treatment you don’t think you need until you try it - it gives a salon-worthy swish.
A scalp brush is a really excellent tool too - will try and find where I put mine.
In the meantime, really get into your scalp with your fingers when you shampoo as it’s the focus on the scalp that makes salon washing so effective. Do it twice for the best result.
Apologies for the encouragement and enabling.

I use the lee stafford one. Denman do one too.

All you can do is try both, if you can get a trial size one even better.

You can try mixing some bicarbonate of soda to your shampoo and massaging it for a couple of minutes.

You could mix some sugar into your shampoo? Have a scrub with that, gently. I’ve used liz Earle hot cloth face cleanser as a scalp moisturiser too. Leave on scalp for an hour and rinse out with sugar shampoo mix.

I’m now using the Aldi hot cloth cleanser instead of liz Earle, which is nearly as nice but a fraction of the price.

I’m sure you could put a product in your hair at the same time as you’re doing your scalp treatment too and wrap up in cling film or a towel for an hour if it needs conditioning (or just put lots of conditioner on the hair)

The sugar shampoo will melt in the warm water when you rinse with no particles to clog up our pipes/water courses.

Few drops of tea tree oil in some melted coconut oil, massage in and leave20 mins before a good shampp.
