You know what I mean. When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle.

It’s all comfy and autumnal, big orange/red jumpers, peg trousers, brogues, jersey skirts, tights, polo necks etc.

I don’t care if it’s not the height of fashion I’m using her as my autumn inspiration.

Late Cagney gives too much blouson jacket and sportswear, but early Cagney, with her cowl neck jumpers, midi skirts, lipgloss and slouch boots..yum! And the HAIR!

I think of Meg’s style in you’ve got mail as French chic American casualised. Love it, she’s so gorgeous and healthy looking and the Upper West Side backdrop is perfection. Shame she didn’t see herself how she really was (early trout pout fail). Wonder what she’s doing now?

Can I also sing the praises of the short haircut that Gwyneth has in Sliding Doors? Up there with Meg's iconic short blond 90s hair.

I love this style so so much. One of you described it well as dressing more for herself than for some idea of what men want a woman to look like. She also had such a cute impish way about her.

Her lipstick in French Kiss was son perfectly chosen. Oscar to make-up artist for that decision. In fact to all the industries that set her style - fashion and interiors!

I wonder if it’s the Late Nora Ephron style . she directed both You’ve got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, and I think When Harry Met Sally too, but not sure. It’s a very timeless Style.The clothes , homes, setting are important aspects of the Film.
Very much like Nancy Meyers films, we watched Father of the Bride recently , and I just knew Meyers had something to do with it. The clothes , houses the small town ,were all so pretty , nothing looked dated.
