Soolantra and hot compression to eyes

Yoyomar · 19/08/2020 20:56

Watching with interest. I've recently been prescribed Mirvaso cream but it doesn't seem to be doing much.

VeronicaVanHoopen · 19/08/2020 20:58

I have just started using a range called Kalme. Not that expensive and I am finding it quite effective.

Isbutteracarb · 19/08/2020 20:58

Possibly La Roche Posay, think they have some products for rosacea

LilyFromTheValley · 19/08/2020 21:51

I keep seeing ads on my newsfeeds for something called Rosalique? Supposed to be good for that I think!

Sandytoes86 · 19/08/2020 21:54

I asked the same question a few weeks ago and someone suggested Dermalex . I have acne rosacea on my cheeks which flares up during PMT

CrystalMaisie · 19/08/2020 21:57

Soolantra. Best thing ever for my rosacea. Got it because it was so highly recommended Mn.

RhubarbCrumble1 · 19/08/2020 22:01

The cleansing cream and moisturiser from The Kalme range Is only thing that works for me.

CoolShoeshine · 19/08/2020 23:03

I keep getting Rosalique adverts on my instagram too. Would love to try it but it’s very expensive.

essexmum777 · 20/08/2020 14:19

I thought i had rosacea and tried soolantra, ipl and tried various creams for a couple of years. Turns out it must have been cystic acne because Acnecide has just about cured it, spots gone, tiny bit of redness left that i'm going to try to get rid of with Retin A.

AGnu · 20/08/2020 14:25

Is Soolantra a GP prescription thing?

Takeitonthechin · 20/08/2020 14:41

Hi, if you are on Instagram, can I recommend my goodness recipes, this lady, Hanna Sillitoe has cured herself of psoriasis, she currently has two books out and has helped people with skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and rosacea..
I have both psoriasis and rosacea, I was told by a dermatologist not to eat, sugar, spicy foods and not to drink alcohol as this too causes the flushing. Since following Hanna Sillitoe, I have found out that having a vegan diet with no gluten and no nightshades ( tomatoes, white potatoes, chilli, paprika, aubergine) has really helped me, my body is clear of psoriasis and I dont have any pimples or pustules or dry skin on my face, the redness has reduced a heck of a lot too, she's definitely worth googling. Hope this helps OP

Azelaic acid from your GP

Tinkywinkydinkydoo · 20/08/2020 17:23

I use the Kalme products, my skins never looked better! Can get the day and night moisturiser and a green makeup undercoat that turns your natural skin colour to reduce the redness for around £40.

NerdyBird · 21/08/2020 22:21

Azeleic acid and retinol help my rosacea. I get them from The Ordinary. V reasonably priced.

Elllllle · 22/08/2020 01:05

41Takeitonthechin that's a very restructive diet. What do you eat?

SarahBellam · 22/08/2020 07:17

Soolantra. Don’t bother with anything else. I bought it from an online pharmacy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/08/2020 09:27

cks.nice.org.uk/topics/rosacea/management/rosacea/

I’d try all the gp treatments first.

Mamette · 22/08/2020 09:40

To be honest OP if it’s in your eyes you need the 3/4 month low-dose antibiotic I would imagine. I’m surprised whoever diagnosed you didn’t give you that. I would go back.

Creams can work on the pustules and maybe a little bit on the redness, which are the outer manifestations of rosacea on your skin. But creams won’t work on whatever the cause is in your system.

Buggedandconfused · 22/08/2020 09:49

My exH has rosacea and it was linked to dairy. He cut out dairy and it got better.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/08/2020 10:08

You’ve got to be careful to find other sources of vit d if you give up dairy.

Sarahlouiseis33 · 22/08/2020 10:53

I used to use soolantra but recently it’s not been effective for me. Mine is on my nose, it feels sore and has been especially bothered by wearing the masks at the minute! My eyes have also been affected feeling like they have sand in them and quite bloodshot. I don’t want to speak too soon but I’ve been using finacea for a few days and it’s seemed to help with the redness of both my skin & my eyes don’t seem so bad. I’m keeping my fingers & toes crossed. I don’t know why the soolantra stopped being effective.

secretgirl · 22/08/2020 13:52

I can also recommend the Kalme range from skinshop. I use their day and night moisturiser, and a serum (in a blue tube) also from skinshop but a different brand. Used consistently it is brilliant stuff.

chatwoo · 22/08/2020 14:11

I am having treatment for the red spider veins but for the bumps, the dermatologist recommended a specific cream/location with 20% Azelaix Acid, which I can get readily from the pharmacy (am in Aus so not sure if it's easy to get in the UK or not).

chatwoo · 22/08/2020 14:12

too many typos...! Dermatologist recommended cream/lotion with Azelaic acid.
