Can anyone recommend me a good skincare brand for a 10 year old starting out?

Dd is just starting out wanting to have her own face wash, moisturiser etc. Simple seems an obvious choice, am I missing anything? Sister suggested Neal's Yard which is lovely but a different price point!

Simple Skincare from Boots, cheap but effective and no harsh chemicals.

I wouldn't clog her skin up with moisturiser at that age, now is the opportunity to make sure she doesn't fall for the beauty industry's nonsense.

The Simply Pure range from Superdrug is lovely, same sort of price as simple if not cheaper.

The beauty editor Sarah Jossel was recommending a new product aimed at 'Tweens' on This Morning today. It's called Spots & Stripes, designed by the mother of a 'tween', aimed at 10-12 year olds. I don't know what the prices are like but worth checking out as i think it has won a few awards.

Cerave, Sam farmer, the beauty kitchen

Simple isn't that great

The Superdrug Naturally Radiant range is lovely - super cheap (usually on 2-for-1 or half price, and it's only about £4 per item anyway) but really effective. It's got a day moisturiser with SPF in which is a good way to instil wearing SPF as a habit, plus a few toners and cleansing pads for greasy teenage skin.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant
Superdrug Vitamin E
Boots cucumber range

Thanks all. Hopefully she won't end up with skin like mine (looks okay, but has always been very excema prone and sensitive) but I think getting in the routine of looking after herself is a good thing overall.

I use cerave, will check out the other recommendations

Hi, I meant to ask this exact question earlier but forgot and ended up in Asda staring blankly at a shelf full of options!
I bought her one of their own brand face washes in the end as it was reasonably priced but looked quite nice and gentle.

My 9 year old uses la Roche posay. Her skins really sensitive but she's getting spots and I wanted something gentle...

Don't use Simple! It isn't, it's actually pretty harsh and loaded with not nice things.

If she has no skin issues as yet, the Body Shop or Superdrug Vit E ranges are both nice. The Radiant wotsit is very perfumed and made my skin itch like mad but I know others like it. Also really rate the Simply Pure from Superdrug.

EnoughAlready2020 · 19/08/2020 22:57

I would opt for naturally radiant by Superdrug. I have quite a lot of high end beauty products but I love this range and think it's really good quality. I have very sensitive skin and I meticulously check ingredients for any nasties.

LaPampa · 20/08/2020 10:12

Spots and stripes is good. I buy my daughter their face wash (and use it myself occasionally too).

nanbread · 20/08/2020 19:18

I wouldn't use anything with loads of ingredients. Maybe some jojoba oil or coconut oil which you can use as a cleansing oil/balm and also as a moisturiser if necessary.
