Dermatica

Hi.
I'm really tempted to sign up with Dermatica. I'm 41, early signs of skin ageing, can be prone to break outs.
I'm currently pretty happy with my skin care. I use PC retinol treatment in evenings and Superdrug Vic C serum and a SPF 50 every morning, but I'm wondering if I could be doing even better!
The company seems to get a good press here. I have searched for threads....but got a bit overwhelmed!!
Just interested in people's experiences really.
Thanks,
Ags :-)

I like it. I am just starting the third month.

I put it on first and then put peptides and moisturiser over the top. I had a little bit of peeling on the corners of my mouth when I went up a strength, but I got better at applying it and no problems since.

Retin-A is the only substance that can reverse ageing, so I am glad to have a way of obtaining it other than through some dodgy eBay supplier.

I've been using it for a while. I also had peeling initially.
But all good now.
Remember to always use a SPF50 though.

I'm very impressed with Dermatica. Just going into my third month and haven't had a spot for weeks now. This is the first time in about thirty years. I used to get painful, headless spots all the time, sometimes my face would swell up like when you get stung my an insect.

I'd say if you are happy with your current regime there's no need to keep experimenting but I hadn't found a regime I was happy with (really difficult PCOS skin and now ageing too). You could argue £23 a month is quite expensive but I'm till saving as I always used to be trying various things. I really would recommend it to anyone at their wits end with problematic skin.

I wasn't sure what they'd put in my prescription as I have so many issues but felt they listened to the fact clear skin was my top priority. They answered all my questions really quickly and also didn't make me start with 0.25 tret after I said I'd been using it from another source for a year. I have had no reaction/soreness whatsoever, it seems a very gentle formula.

As pp said. SPF 50 is essential and the downside is that it makes me very pale (as all the pigmentation including freckles is being stripped away) so now I am experimenting with fake tan, not sure fake tan and retinoids are very compatible though!

Only good experiences here. I’ve just them for 13 months but have stuck with the 0.025 tret and asked for this not to be increased - it works for my skin. Also use spf 50 religiously. I’d highly recommend.

I’ve been using tretinoin for years. Dermatica are reliable and they are a lot cheaper than a private prescription from a dermatologist.

Thanks everyone!

Well, I've done it!
Tret and niacinamide on its way!

It doesn’t take long to arrive.

agapanthus1979 · 20/08/2020 13:57

Thanks @Fluffycloudland77
I'm quite excited - sure sign of needing to get more! 😂
Not expecting miracles, but a bit of a boost to my skin would be good.
Thanks again for all your comments.

Do they provide retinol type solutions for adult acne? Or just for age related stuff?

emma6776 · 20/08/2020 21:31

They do it for acne.

Immigrantsong · 20/08/2020 22:18

Just a tip for all you tretinoin lovers.

If you travel abroad at any point, you can but tretinoin over the counter in most countries at any pharmacy. Pharmacists can also mix you tretinoin with other medications just like Dermatica does.

In Greece tretinoin is 3 euros and 50 cents, so bulk buy and problem solved.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 20/08/2020 22:32

Can you buy online from any of the European pharmacies?

Sorry not sure and would advise caution when buying online.

However if anyone suffers from acne you can get Treclin here in the UK by your GP.

Also Differin at Boots which is a retinoid.
