Anyone got a view on Great Plains sizing? Do they come up big or small.....?

Small. At least that's what I keep telling myself

brimfull · 04/10/2007 09:24

The skirts are quite roomy. I wear medium tops and 10 skirts. But am probably a 12 bottom and 14 top in other shops (apart from Marks&Spencer which seems to have the most bizarre approach to upper body sizing).
Lovely stuff in there. OUr local branch is closing down so picked up lovely summer skirts for next year.
Love their cardigans and wrap tops.

Blackduck · 04/10/2007 10:09

okay in most places am a 10 top, and vary between 8 and 10 bottom (depending on shop...) So dress size?

I tend to find them generous compared to many! I am usually 10-12 and always buy 10 in Great Plains...

HairyIrene · 04/10/2007 10:20

Definitely safe with a 10.
Have to admit have never bought trousers from GP, and I do find that with skirts I fit into smaller sizes than trousers, generally.

I love great plains. Really sad that the store near me is closing, but still have the internet I suppose. I do like trying on things, and generally feeling them before I buy though. Hey ho.

Blackduck · 04/10/2007 12:44

Okay a 10 it is - I am quite short (about 5' 2") so length should be okay....

on the sweater dress thread

Tinker · 04/10/2007 13:39

Mixed. I got into one pair of trousers that were 10 the rest had to be 12. I'm an 11.

Blackduck · 05/10/2007 20:42

okay plus points - fastest delivery ever - ordered thurs arrived today!
Negative - crp quality IMHO. I ordered sale stuff and would have been well peed off if I had paid full price.
Dress - cheap nasty cotton. cr
p stitching and sizing - am a 10, went small and couldn't get the thing to meet in the middle - and whilst I have reasonable sized norks they ain't that big....
Cardi - okay - not what I expected, but for th money I'll keep...
Wouldn't buy full price, not impressed....

inamuckingfuddle · 05/10/2007 20:52

defo small

skirmish · 05/10/2007 20:53

weird - used to work for gp and alway found it to have generous sizing - agree on the crap quality thing though

Blackduck · 05/10/2007 20:54

agree defo small (cardi was medium and whilst long in arms doesn't exactly swamp me...)

OP posts:
inamuckingfuddle · 05/10/2007 20:55

oops, must read latest post before replying blackduck I had a similar experience in the spring, ordered trousers that didn't even cover my bum, despite havin checked measurements and fitting the same size in many other shops, I don't shop there anymore

Blackduck · 05/10/2007 20:57

agree- won't do it again...
