The perfect posh black trousers.......

So where should I try for good quality black trousers. The sort that can do any occasion but don't need dry cleaning. I am a Next size 12 but have a flat bottom so their styles don't fit me well as they are baggy round the bottom and top of thighs. Trying to go for quality but looking at about £50 to spend. Where should I start. I am in a Next rut.

Monsoon ?

DrNortherner · 03/10/2007 18:57

M and S good for wardrobe staples imo.

Tamum · 03/10/2007 18:59

Gap have lots and lots of different styles of black trousers atm- it might be worth trying some of them on, maybe?

flowerybeanbag · 03/10/2007 19:02

Must they really really really not need dry cleaning?

Just thinking that if you want posh trousers that might be tricky...

WitnessProtectionCod · 03/10/2007 19:02

posh evenign or posh nice wool?

Skyler · 03/10/2007 19:05

Posh evening. Zara too long I think...or is that Mango...
No Gap here unless I trek into Birmingham and would need a whole weeekend day for that...

Some swear by Boden's slouchy velvets ...

Some swear AT them ...

Skyler · 03/10/2007 19:06

Is M&S not a bit Mumsy??? Will try there, and can try Monsoon too.
Yes deffo no drycleaning. Too expensive and will put me off wearing them.

I have just bought a nice pair from Monsoon. Smart enough to wear for an evening do but still ok for work etc. Machine washable too.

Tamum · 03/10/2007 19:08

Is Hobbs a possibility?

DrNortherner · 03/10/2007 19:08

Lol at M&S being Mumsy - and Next isn't?!!!

I agree it is, but trews and suits ok from there.

Skyler · 03/10/2007 19:09

That sounds good Dusty. Do you have a bottom though....if you don't mind me asking?
Actually wide leg might be a good idea for my lack of arse. (it is wide but flat).
