Where can you recommend online to buy from ?

I have a lovely waffle texture white duvet cover that I have loved but would like another one - plain non textured is also fine but I don't want any other colour on it at all .

Am not impressed by White Company bedding aLthough appreciate they are popular.

Would like that lovely luxurious hotel looking feeling thank youSmile

Sheridan do lovely bedlinen.

Pacif1cDogwood · 16/08/2020 10:11

Cotton King.
Also for high thread count hotel quality bed linen, Achica.

BertiesLanding · 16/08/2020 10:13

Mitre Linen.

SmackTheMackrel · 16/08/2020 10:16

I buy mine from Amara and they're perfect

lockdownalli · 16/08/2020 10:18

My M&S 750 thread count is like sleeping on clouds Smile

I had never treated myself to expensive bedding before but a friend convinced me and I cannot believe the difference.

askmehowiknow · 16/08/2020 12:42

I've always found Hohn Lewis better quality than the white company. Especially for towels and bedding.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/08/2020 13:05

White company stuff is rubbish, my bottom sheet went through after a couple of years and they said anything over 6 months old is fair wear and tear.

To me 6 months for a bottom sheet is practically in the disposable category.

M&S
Or soak and sleep
Or piglet in bed. (For linen)

The thread count and being 100% cotton is key. I would look for 450TC minimum

Some white Sheridan here.

Lots of hotels use Frette. I think you can buy it online from Harrods. It is beautiful but very pricey. Depends how much you want to spend. There may well be offers at the moment so could be worth an online trawl.

Trufflepuffpuff · 16/08/2020 13:53

M&S - I think I've got the 400 count but the 750 sounds amazing! Mine is like hotel linen, it's nice and crisp and washes and irons well. If you're not in a hurry, wait for the sales as I got mine half price.

Dusk has gorgeous white bedding. It just seems to get softer with each wash. Love it

I have Piglet in Bed linen sheets and love them - I don’t have white but they do sell white ones. They’re a bit pricey but feel so nice and soft, warm in winter and cool in summer, and wear and wash really well.

MitziK · 16/08/2020 17:27

@Oopsadaisydoddle

I've used a Dorma one (well, 2, one in the wash and one on) for years and they've been bloody brilliant.
I think my Dorma stuff is finally reaching the end of its life, as the pillowcases aren't quite coming up pure white and one sheet has torn. At a rough estimate, they're around fifty years old (minimum) and spent the first few decades being boiled in a huge copper on a range each week.

We've bought white bed linen from this place a few times:

www.richardhaworth.co.uk/

It's been great quality and washes really well.

VanGoghsDog · 16/08/2020 22:28

King Of Cotton.

Agree White Company bedding is pants, I put an arm through their duvet cover, it was only about a year old and wasn't cheap!

Pinkfrangipani · 16/08/2020 22:31

Dorma and Sheridan are great. I also bought some Ralph Lauren white bedding from TK Maxx which I thought would just be gimmicky but is really good quality!

Wowzer!! That's amazing! They definitely don't owe you anything. [/quote]
I think my Granddad got his money's worth out of them first. They were still pure white when he had them (I suspect that Reckitt's Blue had something to do with it).

I am regretful that I didn't have a chance of rehoming any of the bedroom furniture or the beautiful embroidered and handmade lace trimmed stuff that my GM had, as almost everything went to an antique dealer for pretty good money. The other linens were likely to be antique (possibly Flemish, but not completely sure on that - she did live in Belgium until the end of WWI, though), but my mother doesn't see any value in things that aren't fresh out of a plastic packet and preferably fully synthetic.

I've just ordered a wool duvet and some feather pillows in the hope that I could be more comfortable at night, but after doing that, I just couldn't justify the amount charged for bog standard polycotton bedding, never mind the posh stuff - or my actual wish, which is for white lace or Broderie Anglaise. I think I'll have a look around the charity shops over the coming months in case linens turn up again and grit my teeth to buy cotton flannelette for winter after payday.
