Skin balm needed

RyanBergarasTeeth · 13/08/2020 01:24

So after the whole body shop debacle I am now in need of a replacememt for their camomile cleanser balm in the little silver tin.

It needs to be not too expensive
Can go on eyes (body shop one is brilliant for that)
And in eco friendly packaging (no plastic)

Does anyone here have any suggestions for me pretty please?

Lush’s ultrabland does what you ask but I know Lush is equally unpopular in here. My friend swears by cheeky wipes coconut oil.

white rabbit i haven't used the balm yet, but love the eye cream.
I usually just use almond oil which I get from sainsburys in a glass bottle.

Lyonsleaf? I love it

redferrari · 13/08/2020 11:41

Neals yard wild rose balm - it's expensive upfront but lasts 3 months and is multi purpose both cleansing and moisturizing. It's too much for summer for me but perfect for winter.

Oh fab i will look into these all. I have seen a few then they have stuff in thats unsuitable for putting on eyes. I will look all of these up thanks.

Lyonsleaf looks like a good contender. Can you use it on the eyes and is it a balm like texture or more wet?

I make my own version of lush ultrabland. Its much cheaper and easy to do and I'm not keen on lush anymore for the same reasons I wouldn't buy from the body shop.

You can order all the ingredients. Just Google ultrabland dupe.

ThickFast · 13/08/2020 12:44

Lyonsleaf is a balm, it’s very thick. So you put it on dry skin. You can order tester pots for £1.99. The actual pots are quite expensive, maybe £15 but mine lasts me about 3 months. I only use it once a day tho.

Imtoooldforallthis · 13/08/2020 13:08

Elemis cleansing balm is very expensive but lasts ages, I use on my eyes no problem. If you can get the 200g size on offer it last ages. You can also get sample pots to try.

The ordinary do a squalene cleanser that’s similar but in a tube and only about a fiver

RyanBergarasTeeth · 13/08/2020 14:57

Oh fab i will look into all these. Oh making your own sounds good too i want to make my own deodrant soon as well.

Yes i avoid lush as well for a couple of reasons.

Facetheory have all their products in glass instead of plastic which is great

doadeer · 13/08/2020 15:05

I love the Rituals cleansing Balm it isn't crazy expensive.

RyanBergarasTeeth · 13/08/2020 15:07

Facetheory now on my list thank you! Im going to be looking at a lot of eco friendly products including toner cleanser deodrant moisturiser although ive got witches lab moisturiser in a glass jar i like.

I use coconut oil. Have been for many years. The stuff you get in the food aisle. Doesn't clog my pores, doesn't break me out, doesn't leave me oily, doesn't sting and even removes lash glue. I love it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/08/2020 10:28

You can use grape seed oil.

RyanBergarasTeeth · 15/08/2020 10:29

Ah i tried coconut oil it made my skin really sore and dry so i might be the unlucky one who reacts to it.

Don’t use coconut oil on your face, it’s one of the most comedogenic oils possible, and will ruin your skin. Just eat it!

Beauty Pie’s apricot cleansing butter is amazing, and is The Ordinary’s squalene oil cleanser. Both cheap as chips.
