How I saved my bleach fried hair!

Hi All,
Thought I would share with you how I saved my bleach fried hair incase any of you find yourself in the same situation!

Back story, I got my hair full of babylights, which didn't cover all of my hair, she sectioned and would do a piece of hair with babylights and the next piece without. It looked fabulous, asked the hairdresser a few weeks later if we could add more babylights to the sections in between that weren't done last time, she said yes. When I went to my appointment was a different girl, who proceeded to do my whole head and went over the already bleached bits. Needless to say my hair was breaking off and fried to pieces. My thick lustrous hair was a complete mess!

I cut my hair into a bob and blended in some layers to hide the damage. Then I went on to my mission of fixing my damaged, straw hair! (this happened 3 days ago).

First night I saturated my hair in coconut oil and slept with it, next morning washed my hair out and it was still a mess but slightly smoother. Then I headed to my local beauty supply store and invested in matrix brand shampoo, conditioner and their kertain dose treatment. I also bought another treatment of theirs and olaplex no3. That day I proceeded to do all of the treatments and the olaplex, hair felt slightly better but still messed up. That's when I stumbled upon vinegar rinses. You basically mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar with water and when your finished shampooing, conditioning and treating your hair you rinse with the vinegar rinse, leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse out. Immediately I could feel my hair was super soft. I then proceeded to let it air dry and my hair is now soft, bouncy, shiny and looks normal again!!!!

I honestly can't believe how much the vinegar rinse transformed my hair.

I haven't styled my hair at all today and it looks normal again!

So please if you fry your hair, yes invest in some good products that are chemical free and treatments to use everytime you wash your hair (once weekly if your hair is damaged) but do try the vinegar rinse. I will be using it once a week until my hair is back to normal and I know it won't be completly until it grows out but wow it feels incredible in comparison to how it felt 3 days ago!

Hope this helps someone!

Ooh, i've heard of vinegar for shine, but not for repairing damage. Will give it a go along with the coconut oil & treatments ,as my bleach job this time has gone frizzy for first time ever & I was despairing. Thanks!

Do you mean white vinegar or malt vinegar please?

Livelifejoyful · 13/08/2020 15:11

I used white vinegar. However any vinegar will work.

Ive just ordered some kerastase K water for this purpose!

Its meant to be amazing and works even more effectively than vinegar at smoothing and repairing the cuticle
