I could do with a bit of inspiration style wise and I wondered if there are any magazines you'd recommend? I've never bought magazines before really. MiL buys Woman & Home - is that any good? Or any others? Thank you

It depends very much on your style. W&H will appeal to a particular market but that may not be you, do you want to dress like your MiL? If not then maybe look around, Red, Grazia, Good housekeeping all have fashion features.
A free trial to readly will give you access to electronic versions of lots of magazines so you can browse and find one that suits you.
Alternatively try Pinterest maybe?

No sure of it is the same in the UK but in Ireland if you join the local library (for free in my area) you can access a load of magazines online for free. Expensive magazines like Vanity Fair, Vogue, Marie Claire, Good food, Red etc along with People, Grazia Best, Good Housekeeping etc. You can download to read off line. 100's of others available.

Look into your library online services. Why pay £6++ for something you can get for free.

I do think it depends what you're into. I'd have a look at what can be digitally 'borrowed' from your library for free first, or if you have Amazon Prime there are a number of magazines included in that in the same vein that can be read digitally for no extra cost.

Personally I find magazines a bit limited when it comes to clothing inspiration but I find Instagram great for browsing the fashion hashtags, finding people with style I like etc and borrowing elements of it. Plus it's free.

Thanks so much for your messages, they're very helpful. According to HoC I'm a Spring Ingenue so I have an idea of what suits me (feminine, small scale, a bit of structure) I'm just not sure where to start looking. The Instagram idea is great, I don't have an account yet - how would you start searching for inspiring ideas/people to follow?

Try Pinterest - that is where I go when I am feeling uninspired! But you will find yourself still looking four hours later lol!
