Please save me some money by recommending some sunblock which doesn’t turn his white t-shirts yellow ... SPF15 or 30 ideally. Thanks!

Actually quite hard to find in the UK. It's the chemical butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane that causes the stains, it basically causes a rust stain when they go in the sea, sweat, or the clothes get washed. It can't be removed AFAIK.

You would either need an mineral sunscreen or look for sunscreen that specifically doesn't include this chemical. Or, wear only black clothes in the sun! It's a problem. I got some from abroad a few years ago but I can't remember the brand. I'll try to find it.

We haven't had problems with sun cream staining since we stopped using children's sun cream and just used the normal ones - we usually use Soltan and our clothes are fine now...

If ordering from the USA (possibly other countries, I'm not sure) it can also be called avobenzone.

P20 is good and lasts all day as well. Eye-wateringly expensive though

we use a nivea extra dry one (would need to look up the name)
it's not greasy and not sticky and suitable for beach, seawater and sweat

pinkbalconyrailing · 07/08/2020 20:03

it's nivea 'protect & dry touch'

Many thanks to everyone who replied Smile
