Can anyone recommend a face cream for someone going through chemo. Skin is sensitive and having acne breakout. Thank you

I wouldn't use anything with perfume in it. I used Avène during my chemo and Altruist as SPF. I washed my face with E45 wash.

I had a red anger rash from the steroids and found anything harsh irritated it and made it worse.

I’d speak to the dr, chemo makes skin very sensitive but also if your immune suppressed and now have infection in the skin your body has to use energy to try and fight that when it needs to focus on the cancer.

I started to use Cerave products during my Chemo and then radiotherapy treatment. I found the facial moisturiser and hydrating face wash particularly good, so much so that I have continued to use for over a year now.

I used MooGoo cream when I was having radiotherapy (after my chemo) which was amazing and I didn't burn or blister at all. I wish I'd found it for during chemo.

They don't do samples but have a no quibble refund if you're not happy.

These suggestions are all good. Chemo plays havoc with skin ( body everything). Something very gentle is the only way to go. Moogoo, cerave and REN helped me and DD during chemo

Budapestpest · 05/08/2020 16:24

A pure oil like sweet almond oil could be good

QueenCT · 05/08/2020 16:51

Definitely moogoo

Spainintherain · 05/08/2020 21:44

She has lactose intolerance so moogoo unfortunately not good. It's even in chemo drugs - poor thing! Thank you for all replies!

Have you heard of ‘look good feel better’? They are a charity which aims to help people who have had treatment or are going through treatment for cancer by beauty therapy. They did run free beauty workshops for people and participants got a lovely goodie bag to take home. All the products were selected to be natural and for sensitive skin. The session covered skin care and I received a great face cream from Clinique. Not sure how they are running during coronavirus though, might be worth checking it out.

LRP Cicaplast Baum is very soothing and I also like the cerave cleanser. I found cerave can be stingy when my skin is particularly inflamed though and when that happens I wash with dermol 500.

I’m Lactose intolerant. Are MooGoo products safe for me to use?

Almost all of our products do not contain milk, except for our Cleansing Bars. We do add Milk Protein to some of our moisturising creams as it happens to be very good for maintaining skin elasticity and for protecting the hair shaft in our Hair Care products. The protein is not related to Lactose.

If you have an allergy to Milk Protein (rather than Lactose) you may want to choose creams without Milk Protein. They include the Sensitive Skin Balm, Soothing MSM Moisturiser and Scalp Cream.

Hi cornishtiger do you work for Moogoo? She has lactose intolerance not milk protein allergy.

My DD is lactose intolerant and moogoo is fine
CornishTiger · 06/08/2020 15:15

No I have copied it from the website.

Lots of my friends who are lactose intolerant use moo goo happily since our local health food shop started stocking it ( their shampoo is all I can use)

So your friend should be fine using it. They do chemotherapy packs too.

Thank you so much
