As above, basically — I have long brunette hair, slightly greying, which I don’t mind at all, so I have quarterly rounds of high/lowlights, always with Olaplex, to blend the greys a bit. My hair has never been sleek, but sadly these days it is constantly dry and parched looking :-(

Has anyone found a solution?

I only shampoo once or twice a week (once purple shampoo but appreciate that’s drying) and use plenty of conditioner, currently Charles Worthington ultraviolet and a L’Oréal masque.

I sense it’s really some kind of finishing product that I need, to lock some moisture in. I have Extraordinary Oil which helps but only marginally.

Please help me; I’m so tired of it looking so dry!

Thanks in advance 🙏

Theres a lot of silicone about in beauty products. It's a good ingredient in terms of feeling like things are smoother and sleeker but its superficial as it just sits on top. I follow the curly girl method for my own hair which excludes all silicone and it's a game changer. For straight hair it's less of an issue I think but for curly hair it changes from constant masks and treatments to lovely hair.
I also like vitapointe but am working on not using paraffin either - just cos I'd like more natural products rather than anything really against it. But that's more expensive. Paraffin and mineral oil are in just about everything cheaper.

@lasttimeround Thank you — I do tend to use gentle shampoos so will pick up some Vo5, Alberto Balsam or similar 😀

If you don't mind throwing money at it, Kiehls conditioners are really good for my bleached, often dry hair; also the Aveda Botanical Repair range.

Have you tried Cantu Leave in Conditioner? I have very dry, thirsty hair and I use this as a leave in conditioner or overnight mask even if my hair is particularly frizzy.

@ChocAuVin

Yes Choc. I have coloured hair and use it (when I remember).
