What is olaplex I keep hearing about? Do you buy it? Or is a treatment you get done? Is it for hair? What does it do? Thank you!

The marketing spiel is it mends broken bonds, it’s expensive in salon
You can buy on Amazon & eBay - try sample size see if it’s ok for you
IMO yes it’s good but not phew wow

Two stage treatment stage 1 is applied to saturate hair, use a bottle with nozzle, then. Apply stage 2.

Glamou listed it s Five stages of Olaplex imo that’s unnecessary. Stage 1 & 2 are were the actual treatment happens
Olaplex is a five-part treatment, the first two steps have to happen in a salon, with three maintenance steps at home.

First, Olaplex Number 1: Bond Multiplier is for professional in-salon use - and can be put on the hair as a standalone treatment, or if you're getting your colour done, it is mixed in with the bleach and put straight onto your hair in foils.
Olaplex Number 2: Bond Perfector is then put on the hair once the bleach is rinsed out, usually at the back wash. This is left on for a good 20 minutes to really get the most out of its chemical mending.
Olaplex Number 3: Hair Perfector, £32 from Look Fantastic, is where you take things into your own hands. This take-home treatment is recommended for use once a week and is best applied before your shampoo and conditioner. Apply 1-3 teaspoons to dampened hair and comb through evenly. Leave on for 10-30 minutes or do as Kimmy K does and leave overnight.
Olaplex Number 4: Bond Maintenance Shampoo, £26 from Look Fantastic, can replace your regular shampoo for a hydrating, strengthening top-up at every wash.
Olaplex Number 5: The Bond Maintenance Conditioner, £26 from Look Fantastic, is the final step in the treatment to hydrate and smooth hair and is recommended to be left on for three minutes before rinsing.

Olaplex is not something you would personally feel or see the effects. It works internally in the hair and needs to be shampooed and conditioned out (1,2 & 3 anyway)

For public use, the range is number 3 and onwards. Number 3 is the best out those bunch and the least diluted version.

I use it all, but for immediate use you are probably best supplementing with a good conditioning mask.

I have been having it since I changed my hairdresser around Christmas and my hair is the longest it has ever been. I could never get it past jaw length all over, i always felt like I had 2 haircuts as despite getting root regrowth, it was never any longer on top and around the front. It is now past my shoulders all over. Might be coincidence but I'm going to continue having it at an extra £30 a time for at least another 6 months to see how long I can get it.

Rayne30 · 02/08/2020 20:07

@bostonbaby do you have the standalone treatment or is it with your colour? £30 is quite shocking considering it’s cost for the 15mls they use!

bostonbaby · 02/08/2020 20:29

I don't know tbh. I think it is in the colour, shampoo, conditioner and treatment mask thing. Or So I am led to believe... Confused

SentientAndCognisant · 02/08/2020 21:03

It can be separate treatment salons charge @£30
I read it can also be added to the colour as a protective agent
I bought 1 and 2 off amazon to use at home as opposed to £30 a pop
