Leggings under dresses

I've got a few summer dresses that are too short for bare legs, I used to wear them with leggings and not think twice about it but this year it seems a bit dated (probably was last year tbh and I didn't notice )
What do people think? Are there any other alternatives as I'd like to get use out of the dresses but I strictly keep bare legs to midi length now!

I wear cycling shorts under dresses that are a bit too short to get away with nothing - it's actually my usual every day get up atm, mainly because I'm breastfeeding and it means I dont have to bare all or worry about wearing something that buttons up at the front if I need to feed!

I wear Seasalt tunics with Seasalt leggings with sandals or ballet flats. When it gets warmer, I live in maxi dresses.

It's dated but I personally still think it looks cute. Go for it if you feel comfortable.
