Stop foundation clinging to / in nose pores

I have annoyingly large pores on my nose, including some caused by scarring from teenage blackhead squeezing. Foundation tends to sit in pores and also cling to skin of my nose in general.

Glycolic acid helps a bit in terms of keeping my skin smoother, primers I've tried don't seem to do much. I've been using niacinamide but yet to see results.

Is there anything else I could try? TIA

Salicylic acid would most likely help, I use the Paula's Choice BHA lotion.

Make sure you are moisturising well (makeup can cling to skin in unflattering ways if not well moisturised). Try using a silicone based primer under makeup as well, such as the original version of the Smashbox primer, or Benefit Porefessional.

Get thee a powder based foundation.

Try using a small flat brush and swirl the foundation into your pores.
Theres a lot of YouTube videos on this technique. Try searching for stephanie lange pores or wayne goss pores they both explains it very well.

Also salicylic acid is a lot better for clearing out pores than glycolic.

agree, salicylic is better for pores than glycolic. Glycolic is better for overall skin turnover

My foundation did that when my skin was dehydrated. Maybe try a hydrating toner before moisturiser. I use one of the Paulas Choice toners and it sorted it out in 2 or 3 days. A hyaluronic serum would help too.

I have pores like moon craters and annoyingly salicylic alone did nothing for me. The REN ready steady glow toner helps which is a mix of AHA and salicylic.

Other things that help are using products with niacinamide, making sure my skins hydrated (I like a hyaluronic acid serum) and I’m having decent results from the Becca ever matte primer. I got the small tube from Cult Beauty to try it. I don’t get along with silicone primers as I’m quite oily but this ones water based I’m told and it’s better than any other primer I’ve used so far.
