Hair bands to help disguise Sideshow Bob haircut disaster!

Hi everyone,

I've had a bit of a hair cut disaster (light hearted, I know we've all got much more serious things to worry about right now!)
Basically I went in with pictures asking for a long bob type style and somehow I ended up with the shortest bob you can imagine and I have since been likened to Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons - the style not the hair colour!
Anyway I can't really tie it back so I'm wondering if people have any suggestions on hair bands or that type of thing that will help keep my hair back but loosely so it doesn't hurt my head! I had a stretchy type hair band but I found it made my head hurt! It was probably too small.
It will take 6 months or more to get any length back so until I can brave a different hair dressers I'm thinking embrace the hair accessories!

I've seen so many threads started by people unhappy with their post lockdown hair cut! What's going on? Are hairdressers out of practice after so much time off or are the masks/ visors affecting their vision?

Could you post a photo Op? That might help with suggestions.

I once asked for a layered Bob and ended up with a normal Bob with a short layer like a fringe going all round my head!
I swore sunglasses on my head a lot to hold it back and also French plaited the top sections which looked quite pretty, although fiddly to do.

@SmileyClare - Thank you for your reply. Your description of your hair disaster sounds very similar to mine! Really she may as well have just used a basin to cut my hair!
I’m not sure I’m brave enough to post a picture! It’s truly bad!
Prior to this I hadn’t been to a hairdresser for what must be 15 years, I got up the courage and then this happened! She was a really lovely lady but I think she is not used to cutting my type of hair into a bob sadly.
When I have to go out I’m currently tieing it back half up half down and it’s okay but at home I could do with a headband to loosely hold it back. It’s driving me mad!

Could you go 80s and tie a scarf rather than use an elastic headband?
So that it fits and doesn't hurt.

I'm using a seasalt hair band. There are 2 types - one's more like a head band cum buff which is quite bulky and wide (I'm a bit of a pea headGrin), the other a knotted narrower band which I find better better. They look ok but they tend to slide off. I use a kirby grip to secure and a bit of salt spray just to make my hair less smooth. I'm might try something from claires tbh as they are a bit pricy (12.99 I think).

I'm sure your hair isn't that bad but I'm assuming you've been used to chucking it up in a bun if it was long so short hair might take some getting used too.

There are loads of styles on amazon. Type in ladies headbands and have a look through to see what style you like.

I've added a couple I like 😀

@jay55 - Thank you for the scarf suggestion, I hadn't thought of that.

@Katharinablum & @Lucygucy - Thank you both for your suggestions, I will look at them.
Yes I have been used to tieing my hair back and so the short hair around my face is taking a while to get used to!
