I'm using superdrug simply pure. It's nearly finished and I would like to try something else. Up to £20 ideally no more than that.

Hada Labo (Japanese brand) hyralonic serum. £15 from Superdrug. I've just bought after seeing Nadine Baggott (fantastic beauty guru - Totally her stuff on ALL things beauty) on YouTube. Do check her out and try the serum - it;s amazing.

fullofhope100 · 27/07/2020 07:50

Totally KNOWS her stuff!

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 27/07/2020 08:05

The Ordinary does a hyalauronic acid serum for not much more than £5. Basic package / branding, but good ingredients, that do what they say. You do have to pay for postage, so it may be worth looking for other things if you need them; cleanser, basic moisturiser etc.. to offset it. I use the Deciem (parent company) website, not Cult Beauty

Can I ask why you don’t want to continue with the Superdrug one? Did it not work?

I use the Aldi Lacura serum (I’m 59 with very dry skin) and it’s perfect - light, hydrating, cruelty-free and only £3.99 Smile

Alexandernevermind · 27/07/2020 08:41

I love Bodyshop Oils of Life serum. I have middle aged skin prone to spots and irritation, but this stuff feels so nice on.

MabelMoo23 · 27/07/2020 08:44

I found Inkey List HA far preferable than The Ordinary. TO HA is very sticky and tacky.

allfalldown47 · 27/07/2020 08:56

I love the Aldi one too! Lidl do one as well, I actually think it's even better.

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 27/07/2020 09:10

I have the Hado Labo one and it does absolutely nothing for my skin. I'm not allergic to it, so thats good. I also tried GoW Hyaluronic - same,
the Superdrug one - same and Simple - same. I'm giving up on serums.
The last one I used which was absolutely fantastic, was Clarins Bi-Phase something or other, which was really transformative, but my skin is now too allergic for it.

OhRosalind · 27/07/2020 10:56

Vichy do a nice hydrating serum.

BillieEilish · 27/07/2020 11:00

The Ordinary. Fantastic, the serum you are after changed my skin incredibly!

5 euros

Get vit C at same time.

dancemom · 27/07/2020 11:15

Do you all use serum and moisturiser separately each morning?

I find applying serum then moisturiser then primer before foundation can cause pilling if I don't have time to let each one soak in

ThatsHowWeRowl · 27/07/2020 11:18

You basically just want a hyaluronic acid serum, any will do I think, you can get very cheap ones from The Ordinary or Inkey List etc. The key is to put it onto damp skin otherwise it won't work. Then a bit of moisturiser over the top to lock it in.

ThatsHowWeRowl · 27/07/2020 11:22

You might be using too much. I think you only need a tiny bit of moisturiser if you use a HA on damp skin, because it's just to keep in the moisture rather than actually giving moisture iyswim? I don't actually really use primer any more as I find the skincare provides a good enough base now, but I am going for a more 'glowy' look these days!

Greenvalleysightseeker · 27/07/2020 12:08

The Lidl one is fantastic, it has hylauronic acid and Q10 in. I also really liked the Ordinary Buffet, which I think is ceramides and peptides and it was lovely but I havent re-ordered yet and havent missed it as much I would have thought.

Lacey2019 · 27/07/2020 12:17

I have to say the origins hydrating mask in avocado has been incredible for me and had a huge impact

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 27/07/2020 16:31

I also love Buffet. It's water-based, too, so no stickiness.

KingFredsTache · 27/07/2020 16:42

I have waxed lyrical about Buffet before, I love it. However, you cannot use it with glycolic acid as the acid affects the peptides, so I have also been using plain old HA and have thought that that is actually just as good for plumping up skin.

MorningManiacMusic · 27/07/2020 17:25

Hyaluronic is just going to do the plumping up thing, any will do, depends on your budget and preferences.
I have tried:
Hada Labor nice and watery rather than slimy
Vichy 89- similar in texture to the Hada.
The Superdrug Pure - bloody love it
TO Hyaluronic- hated it, like rubbing runny snot on my face
Buffet - which I think is also HA based ditto re runny snot.

HL and Vichy probably nicest consistency but both are basically HA so then you need an anti-oxidant vit C and any other kind of serums for specific concerns.

Do have a look at Nadine, she's amazing.

Lottiebugz22 · 29/07/2020 08:44

Thank you everyone.
I love the superdrug pure but I just wanted a change :)
I bought the vichy mineral 89 and really like the consistency.
I am looking at vitamin c serums now. It's such a minefield, so many options!
I looked at Nadine on YouTube I like her.

This one is fully amazing. I converted to it after 15 years with another product and I love it. It is a serum/cream combo:
