Removing hard skin from heels

Has anyone got any advice? I have seen various machines for this
but I am pretty sure you will still need some cream on afterwards.
Someone recommended soaking in lemon and warm water
then using the cream

I had a real issue with hard skin of the bottom of my feet after walking around the house barefoot during lockdown. I bought something that looks a bit like a cheese grater on a hairbrush handle and it worked fantastically. Very cheap and effective. No other creams or anything needed. You can buy them on amazon

ElsieBeard · 24/07/2020 19:18

The "cheese graters"are good but I find I need a cream with them. .flexitol is my preferred one.

GhostCurry · 24/07/2020 20:54

Elsie is right.

  • Get the metal foot file (look in the “foot health” section, not the “fluffy pedicure treat” section - the sandpapery ones you find there are useless).
  • Go at your heels, dry, before bed
  • Cover your feet in Flexitol (this stuff works)
  • Wrap them in cling film.

They will be transformed by morning. Repeat the process if needed.

Those chiropodist stones thingies are good. Recommended in here.

MilkshakeandFries · 24/07/2020 21:20

The absolute best thing is having a pedicure where they soak and then shave the dead skin off. It's a bit vile but baby soft feet after!

Newtons Foot Therapy Chiropody... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001DZVEOM?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

Use one of the foot Sanders. Either Scholl or Boots own. Then apply Flexitol balm every day for a few days after sanding each day. This is the only thing that works. Don't bother with anything else as it's a waste of time, as nothing comes close to this method.

chipsandpeas · 24/07/2020 21:29

footner helped mine, once i done that i then used a foot cream and they are still quite soft

JulesJules · 24/07/2020 21:33

Agree with pps - footfile every day in the bath/shower, and Flexitol every night. This is a brilliant footfile www.boots.com/soap-and-glory-foot-buffer-10244770 - recommended on here years ago.

labyrinthloafer · 24/07/2020 21:51

Is lockdown feet an actual thing then, mine are horrendous! Is it the no shoes?

Fanthorpe · 24/07/2020 21:54

I just got foot peel masks, they exfoliate all the dead skin off apparently. I’ve heard good things but not done it yet.

Raimona · 24/07/2020 21:57

I cut the skin off with nail clippers. Then sand it down with a grater type foot scrubber and put Flexitol on. Occasionally I put Vaseline on my feet too.

As suggested already...soak..foot file and cream...Wilko one is good and cheap...keep at it each day though until soft !
