in search of hair bands for very thick, smooth and heavy hair. Teen age daughter has problems finding any that are suitable and don't break straight away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Invisibobble are good, but need to be the branded ones rather than the cheap ones.

Use the thin sports headbands instead? They have silicone on one side.

These are good. There are other colour options too

I second the invisibobble type. I don't think mine are the actual branded ones, but I got them in Boots and they work well.

I can only use boots own brand hair bands - the thicker ones, all the others I’ve tried don’t have enough stretch to go round 3 times or will gp slack after one use. I’m not a fan of the spiral hair bands, they never feel secure enough in my very heavy, thick hair. I think they come in packs of 10 and I do get maybe one a pack that breaks the first time I try to use it.

As pp have said, invisibobble are really good but they do a line called power which are super strong. I've never had one break on me yet and I have really thick, coarse hair.

I dont like the invisbobble ones much they stretch snd are too loose then my hair falls down.

I use thick covered bands but even those arent great, same problem stretch and dont hold hair up

Looking for something decent

Invisibobble power. When they stretch you drop them in boiling water for a few seconds and they go back to normal.

danuta22 · 23/07/2020 08:50

Thanks for all the suggestions! Will try the invisibobble power ones, the normal ones didn't work. Have tried the goody ones too, (amongst loads of other ones), might try them again. Who would have thought it's so hard to find a really strong and secure hair band???

I use boots own brand thick bobbles but always use 2 at the same time to give extra hold
