Vinted - seems to be completely useless?

Lockdown clearout and couldn't face the faff of ebay so thought I'd give Vinted a go (feel like my clothes are too 'old' for Deepop) - lots of decent 'mumsy' high street brands: French Connection/Monsoon/Mint Velvet/Biba/White Stuff/Sandwich, that sort of thing,

Spent half a day photographing and posting about twenty items (and checking to see that I was pricing competitively) and in three weeks have sold nothing. Lots of people have 'Added to Favourites' but that's it.

Any suggestions? I want the stuff out of the house but am really broke so can't afford not to try and make a bit of money if I can. Is there a better route?

I think most people have taken advantage of the lockdown to do clear outs. Personally I've realised I have too many clothes, so I don't want to buy anymore, especially not second hand online. Once the charity shops are opened, I might have a walk around, but online is always a risk. I might end up with even more ill fitting items

Having said that, I've sold stuff (not clothes) via Facebook Marketplace (furniture, computers). Might be worth trying

Vinted has been really slow the last few weeks. Have you got bundle discounts on as people prefer to buy bundles in my experience.

BigusBumus · 21/07/2020 15:16

I've tried everywhere but generally only get successful sales on eBay. I always do a buy it now rather than auction too.

Thanks. I'll try bundling and make allowances for a slow period, then it's back to ebay {sigh}

Are your prices too high (or even just average for the item)? People generally want stuff for 2-3 quid in my experience... Someone offered me £8 on a brand-new designer jumper once and I'd already put it pretty low at £15!! Sold it in an eBay auction for £40 eventually. Also it tends to be used by younger women IMO, so the quality of brands and what sells is lower, fast fashion places like Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, etc. My advice, use eBay.

I think you might be right @kittensandcoffee. Things I've listed are mostly around & £8-10 for things that cost £50ish new and £15 for over £50. There is a brand new dress with that tag that cost me £149 (left it too late to return) that I've listed for £50, but I just don't think it's going to sell. I thought it was a bit more mature than Deepop (which DD uses) but it does seem to be saturated with PLT, Boohoo and I Saw it First, shite.

Oh well. Half a day I'll never get back.
