Stomach after 2 c sections (pic)

I had my second c section 7 months ago. My stomach is a bit of a mess now and I'm wondering if anything will help. I'm 51kg and trying to lose weight, I know some weight loss will help the handles on my sides.

Do you think exercise like Pilates will do anything or is this just my stomach now? Any recommendations to help stretch marks?

I'm not too devastated and I wouldn't have a tummy tuck. I have two beautiful kids so I know I'm lucky. It would be nice though to wear a dress or a tight fitting T-shirt without my loose stomach needing control pants.

I would consult a postpartum physio for advice before embarking upon any ab exercise. I say this because I have had three CSections and after #1 no bootcamp instructor would touch me unless I’d visited a PP physio.

It’s all about the pelvic floor and in turn that will get your lower ab muscles contracting and tightening, leading to a lesser “pouch”. But if you have distasis recti or anything else that’s basically abdominal tearing the physio will help you.

I could bore for Britain about this but any woman, no matter how she delivered ought to see a PP physio and it’s just not offered as part of the 6 week check here or any PP review. It can avoid all sorts, from incontinence (both ends) to vaginal prolapse and secondary issues such as stiff hips from the way the subcutaneous tissue has healed.

If you can, get £70 and see a physio and get some Pilates style exercises under your belt.

Pilates, 100%....2 c sections here and though I can still have a bit of a tummy (bloating from IBS) my core is better at 46 than it's ever been.

I do Blogilates (on YouTube) most mornings...hundreds of different routines.

I think you need to see a physio who specialises in gynaecological/post-partum health. She/he will be able to diagnose whether your problem is separation or not and whether pilates will help tighten you up or whether surgery is the option you need. (Sometimes that's the only issue.)
