Olaplex

Has anyone tried this? I have very thin, frizzy, damaged hair and my hairdresser recommended it. However it’s quite pricey and I don’t know if it’ll work, so hoping some people have tried it!

I am using the superdrug version and it's good and often on offer for about a fiver and enough for maybe four applications . Did try olaplex twice but no difference noted . I used number 3 only but think you need the others also.

I really rate the superdrug version too! I use olaplex and I do really like it, but the superdrug version has really improved my hair and is much cheaper

Ooh great, I didn’t know they did a version. Will give that a try first then. Thanks!

mcdog No, it repairs bonds in the hair that have been damaged by chemical processes. That’s the reason a lot of people don’t like it; they think it’s to smooth and deep condition when it’s actually made to repair the structure of the hair so you won’t get it feeling different like with a masque straight away. I do like it; my hairdresser uses no 2 in my colour and I have 3, 4 & 5 at home.

Knight and Wilson Pureplex. £11.00
Often on offer at £5...
4 stage treatment which finishes with a conditioner, leaves hair great condition...as stated olaplex 3 is added to the bleach and works on hair bonds etc so is not a conditioner, you need the other products for that, no.4 or 5 i think.

Nombrechange989 · 15/07/2020 14:46

Yep, I also regularly use pureplex from superdrug on my frizzy mop! There are deals on it every couple of months, so don't pay full price OP.

I’ve had steps 1 & 2 done in a salon before didn’t notice any difference once I washed it myself, my hair is dyed not bleached, I’m wondering if you notice more if your hair is bleached.

Recently treated myself to steps 3,4,5,7,8 have only used the the shampoo and conditioner (4&5) a couple of times seems to make my hair very greasy the next day. My hairdresser raves about it and says my hair needs to adjust have a feeling I’ve wasted my money but figured as the hairdressers was closed would be nice to invest in some nice products. I’m going to go and put step 3 on now.

AnaViaSalamanca · 15/07/2020 16:27

I use olaplex 3 on my daughter’s hair - which is very fine and tangles easily. It’s worked like a dream - we leave on for 24h once a week and her hair doesn’t snag as much. Having said that I’m definitely going to try the Superdrug version now.

millymoo1202 · 15/07/2020 18:24

My daughter has just bought this as she has a full head of bleach with toner and says it’s amazing and will re buy the big bottle! She has it on just now and leaves it on dry hair and then washes out about after an hour. I’ve not tried it yet but will

Dancer12345 · 15/07/2020 23:57

Good to hear positive things about the Superdrug version. Will have to keep an eye out for offers. Thanks!

Just seen that Superdrug also has R-plex - anyone tried this? It’s currently on offer!
