How well do your Havaianas fit you?

I’ve just treated myself to several pairs of Havaianas flip flops (couldn’t decide which colour). I’ve never tried them before.

I’m trying the navy ones first. They are the right size, but the straps seem rather loose compared to my old cheapo flip flops.

Has anyone found this to be a problem, or are they comfy/useful despite that?

I have some which I bought about 1t years ago.. I had relegated them to my gym bag for showers but started wearing them again this summer. They are quite loose and I have wide feet. Very comfortable though.

I have a pair of Ipanemas purchased on holiday (again many years ago) - no idea if that's a decent brand or not. However they fit me much better. The sole is firmer, straps hold tighter

I have 3 pairs of flip flops. The really cheap supermarket pair are by far the most comfortable. The joules pair are comfortable enough. The Havianas are the least comfortable. The sole on them is much harder. I wouldn't recommend them.

I loved mine, I've worn them for the last 8 years every summer. They fit me perfectly. They broke last week ☹️

They fit me perfectly but I do have wide feet. I can honestly say they are the comfiest shoes/flip flops I've ever worn. I love them and am jealous of all yours, OP!

My last 3 pairs lasted me 8 - 10 years and were so comfy, 2 slim pairs and one wide, all fitted perfectly. The 2 pairs I have replaced them with are slim fitting and still comfy but the straps are definitely baggier. Interesting to hear that the sizing has changed, not sure why they have done that, does anyone know?

Sad times: I have sent them back (at my own cost!).

I shall await my refund, then decide what to do next.

Thanks for everyone’s input!

FUN QUESTION: What is the ideal number of pairs of flip flops to own, for practical purposes, fashion, or whatever?

I have one pair of flip flops and they are from flopz. Expensive maybe but so comfortable and I've had mine 3 summers and still going strong

Chatons · 13/07/2020 21:31

I noticed some inconsistency. The pink straps had the least-worst fit. If all the flip flops had fit (fitted?) the same as that I’d have probably kept the lot.

But as colour-wise I was most iffy about the pink, there was no point keeping just that one pair.

All or nothing, that’s me. I drive myself mad.

Where did you get them from? There are a lot of fakes out there, I bought a fake pair once and they were baggy.

Chatons · 13/07/2020 21:46

They came from flip flop shop.

I think I should have probably shopped around a bit. Their returns policy is a bit unusual.

I've got the ones with a back - easily the best flip-flops I've ever had.

Chatons · 13/07/2020 22:42

Ooh. I’ve been having a look at people’s suggestions. Nice!

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Yes, they are the best I've got 3 pairs of them! Can be dressed up or down.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 14/07/2020 09:10

I have very narrow feet, so I find mine really comfortable. So for at home, beach or going to the pool, I love them. However, I can't drive in them.

PenOrPencil · 14/07/2020 09:13

I wore my slim Havaianas for approx. 5 minutes. They were far too wide on my skinny feet and shredded the skin between my toes instantly.
I had a pair of Archies delivered the other day, they fit really well and are super comfy.

purplemunkey · 14/07/2020 09:18

I think they’re massively overrated. Sure they look nice (for flip-flops), are comfy enough and fit ok but not enough to justify £20+. Don’t they sell for a couple of quid in Brazil? Both pairs I’ve had looked nice but neither lasted a year.

I switched to Reef Stargazers. Lots of nice sparkly choices (if that’s your thing, it is mine!) very comfy and last ages. Still fairly pricey for flip-flops I suppose at £15-20 but mine have lasted years so worth it for me.
