Grey hairs

I decided to stop getting my hair coloured last year and just grow out my natural hair, I'm now about 50% of the way throught the process. I do have quite a lot of grey hairs at the front of my head, although none at the back (sods law).

The majority of my hair is not grey but the grey hairs coming through are coarser and more flyaway, I feel like I need to be using a different shampoo/conditioner/treatment. However, I can't seem to find any recommendations for hair which is a mixture of natural colour and grey, all the products seems to assume you're either grey or you're not.

Does anyone have any recommendations for this sort of hair dilemma? Other than dyeing it!

That's a very good question! I have salt 'n' pepper hair too - I actually love mine - it is like having natural highlights. Anyway, awaiting any info from others too! ☺

Mine started at 36 so I use more moisturising shampoos etc, superdrug pre shampoo Argan oil elasticiser, Lee staffords hair apology once a week.

I straighten so I use Tesco serum for £1, lee staffords flat iron protecter. I blow dry on a brush to encourage the cuticle to lie flat first.

Grey hair is naturally courser and more wiry and I dont know of any shampoo that will miraculously change its structure. I have greys, maybe 50% I guess? I just use a semi-colour which washes out after 24 washes, but I realise you dont want any colour. Have you asked your hairdresser for any recommendations?

Products for curly hair should help. I find Cantu good.

"Grey hair is naturally courser and more wiry"
That isn't the case for everyone - the only difference for me is my curls have almost disappeared. My hair is not at all coarse or wiry and it is over 90% white. And it is below shoulder length.

I think I might need to look into more moisturising options, most of my life my hair has tended towards greasy, I should re-adjust now my hair is changing.

My hairdresser suggested KeraStraight treatment which I might look into again in the future but I want to have finished growing the colour out first.

I’ve always wondered if a keratin smoothing treatment/ Brazilian blow dry would help.

I’ve got about 12 white at most but I’m very dark so they really stand out.
