Facial Sunscreen - dry skin

Hi all,

I have been ordering facial sunscreens online for the last few years - Korean or Japanese ones. Lovely light silky textures that I can wear makeup over without any problems! Unfortunately Covid seems to sent shipping costs through the roof. My usual eBay sellers either won't ship here or quote crazy shipping costs.

I'm down to dregs now. I've tried 2 European ones that I'm not at all pleased with. A Vichy one (velvety fluid) is really thick and sticky and a La Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid that I was very hopeful about until I noticed that it's top ingredient is alcohol. My skin just can't take that!

Has anyone found a decent European sunscreen that is nice and light but not drying? I can wear chemical or physical filters.

By the way, shipping from the US is going sky-high too. I suppose there's a lot less air traffic so cargo costs are going up.

Thanks xx

Several clarins moisturisers have an SPF. The hydra essential range is especially good god dry skin, but I have dry skin and find that all their creams for normal or combination skin are still very moisturising too. They all smell gorgeous. Pricy though.

I use Heliocare which ships from the UK I think (but originates from Spain).

I have very dry skin and use this one int.eucerin.com/products/sun-protection/sun-creme-sensitive-protect-spf-50plus

It goes really well under my foundation.

Looking at the ingredients it does have alcohol in it though.

Cerave,it's only 25 factor though and I prefer a higher SPF.
My favourite is Biore but the Cerave is much more moisturising.

La roche posay do excellent sunscreens

Nivea do some great facial sunscreens. I bought a couple from Superdrug. La Roche posay Shaka fluid is good too.

Both Nadine Baggott and Caroline Barnes on YouTube have reviewed facial sunscreens recently. They might be worth a watch.

Thanks a million, loads to try there! I'll get myself to a boots and have a good read-through ingredients. The Heliocare sounds like they have some good textures.

@N0tfinished I've used this Estee Lauder one for a while and like it. In fact sometimes it's a little too greasy and you do need to allow it to sink in before applying make up.

I can't get on at with L R Posay and they also irritate DH's skin (he uses them as he does outside sport.)

I would recommend Heliocare 360 fluid cream, factor 50 and I would say it’s more suited to slightly dry skin.

Hi Ali decided on the Heliocare- so far so good. Not drying & goes well under makeup.
