what clothes shops must I visit that I would never normally get the opportunity?

I was thinking of individual, boutique type shops as I suppose we do have most of the High St stores. Problem is my budget is Monsoon level so anything much more expensive than that would be no good. But could pay a bit more for something really nice.

I don't have any specific items of clothing I'm looking for, just fancy a browse round some nice shops.

Gosh, there are so many places. I will warn you though, the cute little boutiques are never the cheapest!
Notting Hill (I say in a whisper!) is nice, but a bit crowded and touristy. If you go there, completely avoid Portobello Road if you can. There are some lovely shops, but there can be difficult to find if you are not sure where you are going.

I also love Primrose Hill. It is small and pricey, but the shops are soo cute!

There is Hampstead, which is nice because there are some high street shops as well as designer boutiques. It has a villagey feel that I like and is rare in London.

I also like Marylebone high street. It has a really relaxed feel at the weekend and some nice shops and cafes.

Covent Garden is probably best because it covers a wide area, has an eclectic mix of shops and they are not all outrageously expensive. It is busy though, and if you go there on Saturday DO NOT exit the tube at Covent Garden...walk down from another station, trust me! Best to look it up online and see where you want to go. I would start at the market, walk up to Neal street and then when you hit Shaftsbury Avenue, go around seven dials back up to Leicester square. If you get bored of Covent Garden, then head up Regent/Oxford Street.
Covent Garden is near SoHo, Chinatown (great cheap lunch) and Charing Cross. So there will be so much to do within walking distance.

HTH.

Have a great time!
