Red, clogged, spotty, horrid.

Current products are cetaphil, Avene tolerance moisturiser at night, duac a couple of times a week (can’t do more as it makes me itch). I wear makeup although I probably shouldn’t as it might make things worse. My skin is sensitive.

Ps please don’t tell me to follow Caroline Hirons’ advice! Made things worse.

Please someone help with my skin!

Have a Google for fungal acne, can't really tell from the picture but it vaguely looks like it but your exhaustion with products/routines would be explained by fungal acne.

loopyloo12 · 10/07/2020 09:48

Have a look at acnecide and also the ordinary have a lots of products that helped my skin

Isotretoin, (Accutane) has been amazing for my skin.

3rd month in and I am astonished. Only side effects have been dry lips.

Get your gp to refer you to a dermatologist. If that’s not possible, try Dermatica It’s an online dermatologist who you can upload pictures to. Steer clear of over the counter stuff.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2020 12:50

Drs, if you don’t suit duac try something else. There’s so many treatments now.

WingBingo · 10/07/2020 13:27

Agree with that, you don’t have to suffer. Ask for a referral to a dermatologist, there are lots they can do.

ChequerBoard · 10/07/2020 13:45

I agree, go back to your GP. I had similar looking sore, spotty skin a few years ago and was prescribed doxycycline, a low dose antibiotic for 6 months which totally cleared it. No lotions or potions would have fixed it. Have had totally clear skin ever since.

If standard routines aren't working or making it worse i would go to the GP as there probably isn't a miracle product that's just over the counter

withlotsoflove · 10/07/2020 16:39

Have a look at Dermatica- an on line dermatologist. You submit pictures and they will be able to help diagnose from that!
Good luck.

TableNiner · 10/07/2020 21:47

Another vote for Dermatica, quite expensive but so easy to waste money on the next thing that is going to make a difference

Thecazelets · 10/07/2020 22:16

Yes, I would ask the GP for a referral to derm and to trial antibiotics (such as Lymecycline) while you're waiting. Topical treatments aren't working for you. They're usually very sympathetic to this in my experience.
