If you're fed up with Primark and supermarket clothes ...

Where do you shop instead?

I'm super casual - jeans, trainers, t shirts, etc. Used to shop quite a bit in cheapo places but I'm mid 40s now and find cheap clothes increasingly unflattering, often because of the thin, clingy fabrics. Places where I've bought stuff I like over the past year or so include Uniqlo and Cos. Where else should I be looking? And any general advice about flattering stuff to wear? I'm tall and slim but do have a few bulges here and there these days ...

I've has some good quality clothes from Patra, but they're not really for people under 35. I've also picked up some bargains from mandm, particularly weird fish. I'm surprised you're knocking Primark though. I've quite a few t-shirts and nighties/ pyjamas which are going strong years after buying them. They're not as cheap as they were but that's because they're better at sourcing their products.

Definitely Zara

I have never bought anything from Primark because I've not lived near one. I also don't live near a supermarket big enough to sell clothes. I buy online all the time. From:
Boden ( good sales, great quality, excellent customer service. Avoid the quirky prints)
Hush: look for sales
John Lewis : they stock so many brands and returns are easy
Whistles: in sales
Jigsaw: in sales!
Very occasional H&M but maybe once every couple of years
Finery: in sales
FWPby Rae for tee-shirts and sweatshirts
I'm allergic to many types of fabrics so always love & other stories but their stuff makes me itch sadly

Boden for basics but always with at least 20% off or in sales.
The White Company - knitwear (with discounts)
Comptoire- in sales
Uniqlo- jeans, T shirts and cardis for everyday.
Mint Velvet- knitwear and tops
John Lewis own brand- some T shirts and basics
Oasis - very occasionally for a top

A lot of my clothes are bravissimo because they suit my shape, jeans are M&S. I quite like Sainsburys clothes though for cheaper ones they are better.
